I love fresh baked goodies. Cakes, cookies, brownies… you name it. I love it! The only problem is that I can’t bake to save my life. I do TRY and bake things but they never turn out good. They are either over baked, under cooked or just look inedible. What makes matters worse is that I always follow directions. I even mess up pre-made things like cookies. I don’t know why. I am a great cook, I just can’t bake. My sister on the other hand must have inherited all the good baking genes because she’s an excellent baker. Her chocolate chip cookies are out of this world yummy.
I can easily walk into any grocery store and pick up cookies, brownies and cakes. But they never taste like fresh and homemade. They have been mass produced in a factory that spits out a dozen cookies in a matter of minutes. Don’t get me wrong, they taste great, but sometimes you have a craving for something that feels like it was handmade with love. Something like grandma used to bake on a Sunday afternoon.
You CAN get those deliciously wonderful homemade baked goods, whether you want them as a gift or for yourself. Just check out Harvard Sweet Boutique. Their cookies and brownies taste so good that I think even Grandma, or even my sister, would be very impressed.
Harvard Sweet Boutique sent me some product samples including cookies and brownies. Sadly I received them when I was suffering from a rather nasty stomach virus. The idea of eating a brownie was NOT something I wanted to attempt. Not the way I felt. So I had to wait until I was 100% better so that I could truly enjoy the delectable treats I had sitting before me.
First let me start with the box the goodies arrive in. Harvard Sweet Boutique has the sweetest (no pun intended) gift boxes I have ever seen. I have done many reviews for baked goods over the years, but NONE of the other companies delivered their treats in such a wonderful way. What I love about the box (aside from the fact that it’s adorable) is that it can be reused over and over again. You can use the box to give a gift to someone else, or use it to store small items in. I used our Harvard Sweet Boutique box to put small, breakable ornaments in. I also kept it on the table during the holiday as a small decoration.
Even the ribbon was too cute to throw away. I am keeping it to use to wrap another holiday gift in the future.
I included another photo of the box from the Harvard Sweet Boutique website since my photo makes the box look distorted for some odd reason. My box looks exactly like the one from the website, except my ribbon was a little different.
The company uses a lot of decorative boxes in different sizes and for different occasions for their baked goods. Here are a few more examples of the boxes that they use.
Inside the box I found an assortment of cookies, brownies and even a toffee. So many yummy choices! It was hard to narrow down which one I wanted to try first.
My kids and my husband were anxious to eat the goodies too. I told them that no matter what cookie or brownie they had I needed to try a bite of it for my review.
I can honestly say I loved each and every one of them! My favorites were the Chocolate Toffee Cookie, Cinnamon-Sugar Snickerdoodle, Butter Crunch and Ginger Molasses Cookie. Each cookie was much bigger then the kind you would make at home and each one was individually wrapped. I’m not sure if they are all like that when you place an order. I like that they remained fresher longer when they were wrapped. Of course no cookie will last more then a few days in my home, so that really would not be an issue. Ha Ha.
The brownies… oh the brownies! The Vanilla Sea Salt Caramel Brownie was to die for! I love anything with Sea Salt and Caramel, but oh my goodness! This brownie was AMAZING! It was ooey gooey and oh so rich and creamy all at the same time. It was packed with flavor.
The Mint Chocolate Fudge Brownie was my second favorite. Sometimes goods baked to have a mint flavor are either too strong or not minty enough. This mint was spot on perfect! It was just the right amount of mint.
For some odd reason I wanted to top the Mint Chocolate Fudge Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream. Sadly we didn’t have any when I was enjoying it and there was no way I was going to wait to eat it while I waited to get out to buy ice cream.
The English butter crunch toffee adorned with roasted almonds was also very delicious. Too bad there was only one piece in the box. I could have gone for a few more.
Not only does Harvard Sweet Boutique offer a variety of products, all packed with love and care, but each and every product tastes like it was just baked for you. Not one of the treats that we tried tasted like it was mass produced or sitting on a store shelf for the pack six month. Each one tasted like it came out of the oven earlier that day. I think that is what sets their treats apart from others.
The treats taste like what you would expect them to. Another words you can taste the Cinnamon, Sugar, Molasses and other ingredients. Each goodie I tried was full of flavor. Nothing tasted “flat” or artificial.
Harvard Sweet Boutique also offers Gluten Free goodies and Low Carb options too.
If you are hosting a party and looking for fun centerpiece ideas or favors you might also want to check out Harvard Sweet Boutique too.
I have Harvard Sweet Boutique bookmarked on my computer. There are a few other goodies I am anxious to try including their Candy Cane Dark Chocolate Peppermint Bark, Raspberry Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Orange Hazelnut Blondie and of course and more of their Almond Toffee.
Harvard Sweet Boutique goodies would be a great gift for someone near or far. I think even a college student would welcome a box of goodies from Harvard Sweet Boutique. They would make great holiday gifts as well as gifts year round. Sometimes the best gift of all is a “Just Because” or “Thinking of You” gift. Don’t forget to give yourself a gift of treats from Harvard Sweets Boutique too!
