“Plus Up” Your Holiday – Cool Giveaway! (Ends 12/21/12)

Holiday Travel

I’m all for savings and discount programs, especially when I don’t have to do anything differently then the things I normally do. The last thing I want to do is “jump through hoops” or have to make extra purchases I would not normally do just to save a few dollars in the long run. I rather just shop like I normally do and if I earn points for discounts and savings great!

It seems like just about most brands have some kind of a loyalty program that offers their valued customers ways to save on future purchases. I wish more brands were on board with that idea. It would sure help families on tight budgets to save a few dollars here and there.

Did you know that Enterprise Rent-A-Car is offering their valued Enterprise Plus loyalty members a special Plus Your Points promotion? That is great news for members, especially considering that people do a lot of traveling during the holidays and tend to rent a car rather than put a lot of wear and tear on their own vehicles. Plus you have to think about all those presents you have to to with you when you travel “over the river and through the woods”. You’ll might find that you need a bigger vehicle. An Enterprise rental car might be the perfect solution.

Enterprise Plus

Here is a little more about the promotion.

From now until February 28, 2013, Enterprise Plus members can earn DOUBLE points on all qualifying rentals. You can redeem the points for FREE rental days. Free car rental sounds great to me.

Members can also get bonus points for things like sharing the promotion online with their friends and family on Facebook, or by upgrading, for example, with a GPS rental. I love that they offer GPS with their rentals. There is nothing worse then being lost in a strange city. Most people have GPS systems these days but who wants to worry about traveling with theirs. It’s must easier just to include on in a car rental.

Members can receive a one time bonus of 20 points simply by registering for the promotion too.

I like that there are no blackout dates. There is nothing more frustrating then needing to use your bonus points on something specific only to find out that you can’t use them on the dates you need them for. I’m sure a lot of people who use mileage points for air flights can totally relate to that.

I also like that the points don’t expire as long as you rent once in a two year period. I hate feeling rushed to use points when I don’t need to use them by a specific date. I rather use them on MY terms, not when someone tells me I MUST use them or else risk loosing them.

If you want to learn more about the promotion, or to enroll, visit www.PlusYourPoints.Enterprise.com. Once enrolled you simply apply your membership number when booking a reservation online at www.Enterprise.com or over the phone to receive all their member benefits. It doesn’t get any easier than that.

I think this is a great way to “Plus Up” your holiday season – earning double points on something you might normally do otherwise.

Don’t forget to check out Enterprise on Facebook.

Personally I would rather drive then take a train or a plane for holiday travels. Even when it’s not the holiday season the airports can be super crowded and going through the TSA lines can take forever. I prefer driving because I can come and go when I please, plus I’m not at the mercy of strict time lines like you would if you were taking a plane or a train.

I’m going to “Plus Up” my holiday this year by actually leaving our home on Christmas Day. Years ago when our daughter was an infant (she’s 15 1/2 now) we travelled ALL OVER THE PLACE for her first Christmas. We spent about 5 hours just driving that day going from house to house. From that moment on my house said “never again” and we opted never to go anywhere on Christmas day. We rather stay home and let the kids open presents and enjoy their toys. However the kids are teenagers how and don’t have toys to play with. So traveling again is not such a bad idea. So for the first time in 15 years we’ll be going up to my father’s house for Christmas dinner. We don’t have a need to rent a car (it’s less than an hour away).
