Merci for Chocolate!

Merci Chocolates

One word usually evokes a positive response from most people that I know – CHOCOLATE! I actually know one person who hates chocolate, and another that is allergic, but other then them everyone I know is head-over-heels crazy for chocolate (myself included).

Chocolate is great for so many occasions – celebrations, parties, hostess gifts, sweet treats to offer to guests and of course “just because”. During the holiday season people often give the gift of chocolate or offer then as a hostess gift.

A great way to say “thank you” to someone you appreciate is with a delectable box of rich and creamy, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate. An even better way to say “thank you” is with Merci chocolates. Merci is the French word for “thank you”. Merci beaucoup means “Thank you very much” too. I took two years of French in school. That is pretty much all I remember, sad to say.

Merci chocolates have recently launched in the United States. If you haven’t stumbled across them you most likely will as they make their way to more and more stores across the country.

Each box of Merci chocolates includes an assortment of rich, European chocolates made from the finest ingredients.  Flavors range from Milk Chocolate, Cream Truffle and Hazelnut-Almond to Dark Cream and Praline-Cream. There are 7 varieties in all. I like the dark and the coffee and cream flavors.

Merci is considered one of Europe’s top gift-giving chocolates.

Each box of Merci chocolates features 20 pieces of chocolate, each individually wrapped. I like that they are individually wrapped because you can tuck a few pieces in your purse or in your desk. Other boxed chocolates are loose and only come on a paper cupcake-like cup. You can’t take them with you.

They remind me of little cigars. :-)

The chocolates have a line in the middle making them easy to snap apart into two perfectly sized mouthfuls, or if you want to share a piece with a friend.

I like the shape and the packaging of the chocolates. It gives them a regal appearance. You could easily set these out on a nice platter and serve to guests as an after dinner treat or with coffee and tea.

Let me tell you from personal experience – these chocolates are SO GOOD! Ridiculously good and every addicting. I have to hide my box or I’ll literally eat them all. You can tell that these are quality chocolates from the first bite. These do not taste like something you would pick off the store shelf. These taste more like something you purchased from a high-end chocolatier.

The best part about these chocolates is that even though they taste like fine European chocolates, they are not expensive like you would imagine. In fact you can pick up a box of 20 assorted flavors for a little over $5.00+. That is less expensive then other brands of boxed chocolates. Walmart.com has them for $5.48 per box.

Because these mouth watering chocolates are so affordable they are a great way to say “Merci” to those special people in your life – the mailman, your delivery man, your neighbor, you child’s teacher, the pet groomer and just about anyone else you can think of that you would love to say “Merci” (thank you) to.

Merci chocolates are by Storck. There is a “Where to buy” link on their site.

Whether you are looking for a sweet way to say “thank you”, or just want to bring a smile to someone’s face, Merci chocolates are the way to go.
