Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and I’m still struggling with what to get my hubby. In addition to Valentine’s Day we also celebrate the anniversary of our first date (February 2nd – 17 years ago). We usually celebrate both at the same time.
We usually get each other a little token gift of some sort. We don’t need a special day to prove our love for one another. We prove that each and every day. Personally I love to give my husband something totally unexpected. I don’t go for the usual things. In the past I have been known to search every corner of the Internet looking for his favorite childhood toy, or have something custom made for him. It makes my heart smile when he opens his gift. Especially because he knows that usually there is a lot of time and thought put into it.
If you are struggling with what to get your sweetheart this year I have an gift idea that would be perfect for someone who loves movies and/or movie musicals – The Warner Bros- 20 Film Musicals Box Set.

When I saw the films that are included in this box set I just knew I had to have it. I love almost all of these movies! Anyone who knows me personally knows how much I LOVE Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I even have a movie inspired tattoo I’ve been dying to get for many years to show my love for the film. I also love the Wizard of Oz. That was my daughter’s favorite film when she was a young girl too.
When I think of movie musicals some of the films that come to mind include Music Man, Singin’ in the Rain, Victor Victoria, A Star is Born and Yankee Doodle Dandy – all of which are available in this collection.
What I love about this collection (aside from all the movies themselves) is that there are 20 films. That means that you can put together 20 romantic movies nights for you and your loved one. How romantic is that! For example, give the set to your sweetie and make a “date” with them for every Saturday night (or whatever night works best for you) for the next 20 weeks. Then once a week watch a new film from the collection along with some quality cuddle/snuggle time. Make sure to have a soft, fuzzy blanket, some popcorn and even a little vino if you are into stuff like that. 🙂
Think about it – that is 20 weeks – or 5 months worth of “dates” in the comfort of your own home. It’s also a wonderful way to re-live your favorite movie musicals as well as get to know some of the other classics.
I have seen about half of these films where as my husband has seen three of them. I cannot wait to get my own set so I can watch them not only with my husband, but also with my children. I know they love Willy Wonka & Wizard of Oz. Who knows, maybe I can get them to like some of the other classics too.
You can learn more about the set on the WB shop website, http://bit.ly/WB90-WBS20Musicals. The set is only $68.99. That might seem pricey, BUT, think about how much a dozen roses cost. Roses will die in a week. These movies will be available to you for lifetime. Plus the cost for each movie comes out to about $3.45. Where else are you going to get a classic movie on DVD for $3.45?
You can pre-order the collection now and it will ship on February 12th. Ground shipping is FREE for all DVD’s and Blu-ray’s. You can also get 2-day shipping for $10 and next day for $15.
What do YOU think about this movie musical collection? Is your favorite musical featured in this DVD collection? If so, what is your favorite (or favorites)? Would you love to give or receive this collection as a gift this Valentine’s Day? Feel free to leave a comment. I always love to hear from my readers.
