I am sure everyone can relate to one of these scenarios.
- You had a super busy day and just don’t feel like making a big dinner.
- You forgot to take something out to defrost for dinner.
- You have to rush out and need a dinner that is quick and easy to make.
I have found myself in all of the above situations. I might add sometimes I just don’t have the energy to make a big dinner, especially if I’ve been on the go all day. Sometimes I need dinner ideas for my hubby, especially if I’m not going to be home to make my family dinner. He works all day and needs something quick and easy he can make.
It’s always a good idea to keep some “go to” meals in your pantry, fridge or freezer to help you out when faced with one of the above situations. Pasta is always a good “go to” meal. So is soup and a sandwich (tomato soup & a grilled cheese sandwich – YUMMY!). Another great stock item is frozen pizza. I love pizza and I could eat it every day so I always make sure to keep some on hand. On nights when I have the time and energy I sometimes make a pizza from scratch, but it’s always nice to have one all done and ready to bake too.
Red Baron frozen pizzas are a yummy frozen pizza to keep on hand.
Some people might argue that all frozen pizza’s taste the same – like frozen cardboard with cheese on top. While that might be the case with many frozen pizzas, that doesn’t describe ALL frozen pizzas. Some are pretty good. Some can even compare with delivery pizza.
I like Red Baron frozen pizza (especially the pepperoni) because it tastes a lot better then other frozen pizzas I have tried. I like that the cheese and the pepperoni are plentiful. There is nothing worse then a pizza with just a handful of cheese and very few toppings. The cheese and toppings on the Red Baron pizzas are about the same amount I would use when I make my own pizza.
I like the sauce that is used on the Red Baron pizza. It stands out a bit. I’m not sure what spices they use in it but you can certainly taste the sauce. I happen to like the sauce on pizza. It’s not always about the toppings.
The pizza bakes in the oven about as long as it takes most frozen pizzas. That is fine. It gives me time to prepare a salad to go along with the pizza.
The crust bakes up well. I like a crust that is a bit chewy, not so crispy that it crumbles when you bite into it. That has happened with other frozen pizzas I have tried.
It takes two Red Baron pizzas to feed my family of four. I’m sure I could even make a third one if there was room in my oven. My teenage son is going to eat us out of house and home. My hubby has a decent appetite too.
