Win a $100 Gift Card from Tivo (giveaway ends 1/30/13) #ImWithTiVo

My husband loves his high tech gadgets. Don’t laugh but I can barely figure out how to put in a DVD or Blu-ray disc and watch it on TV. I usually just watch them on my computer because I can’t figure out what button to push or what needs to be connected into what else. And don’t even get me started on the remote controls! I have no clue which one operates which device.

We have a satellite dish, DVD burner, Blu-ray player, surround sound and a Wii. They are all very handy to have but one product that we don’t have, and that we really need, is a TiVo.

Most of the time my hubby and I can agree on what shows to watch on TV. However every now and then there is a conflict and one of us has to give up something we really want to watch for the sake of the other. Let’s just say my husband has the most convincing “puppy dog eyes” and is a master at guilt trips. Ha Ha.

One good example would be Sunday nights. My husband LIVES for football. That is why we have the satellite dish – because he has the NFL package where he can watch every game. That is fine and dandy with me. I don’t mind him watching football during the day, but come Sunday night the conflict begins. I LOVE to watch Once Upon a Time and of course The Walking Dead. Both shows come on during the Sunday night games. I usually have to make a deal with him to let me watch my shows and I’ll give up watching whatever I want to watch on Monday night so he can watch Monday Night Football, or occasionally Thursday night football too.

We NEED a TiVo. I have been talking about it for a long time now. Especially because TiVo has different models and features. I’m sure we can find one to suit our needs.

Technology is always changing. Even the way we view television is so much more advanced then it was just a couple of years ago. Now we are able to watch TV on-the-go, on our phones, iPads, computer and streaming to the television. With all these new emergences in television and web technologies, TiVo is leading the charge.

Here are some recent findings that show just how differently we are viewing the way we watch television.

    • According to Accenture, 49% of consumers now view OTT content as well as usual TV.
    • According to Pew Research 46 percent of adult ‘net users are creating their own content and 41 percent are helping reach an even wider audience by reposting it on social media sites.
    • InMobi states that of the many uses of mobile, 70% of consumer will or would use it to watch television or some form of online content.

When I think of TiVo I think of the ability to record a program while watching another. While that is true, there is so much more to TiVo then just that. TiVo offers consumers much for then just recording your favorite TV shows.

Unlike other DVR’s, TiVo offers consumers the ability to enjoy services like NetFlix, Hulu and Amazon.com. You can also stream music from your TiVo unit from popular services like Spotify and Pandora. If you would like to learn more about these On Demand services your whole family can enjoy, visit www.TiVo.com/Products/TiVo-walkthrough/On-Demand.

Did you know that TiVo’s DVR can also integrate across both your iPad and mobile phone? This allows people to watch their favorite shoes on-the-go. I love that I can stream to my iPad. That allows me to sit out on my balcony on a nice sunny day and enjoy the weather all while watching my favorite show or movie on my iPad, thanks to TiVo.

Tivo’s DVR also integrates seamlessly across both mobile and iPad, allowing the busy customer to watch while on the go.

I love that TiVo Premier is perfect for my family’s home environment. This is why I really want to get one for my family. That way I can watch my favorite shows on my iPad while my hubby can enjoy watching his shows on our TV, plus my kids can stream music from Spotify and Pandora on our other iPad or their phones.

TiVo has a few different units available, so your family will be able to choose the right one for your home entertainment needs. You have the TiVo Premiere, TiVo Premiere 4 and the TiVo Premiere XL4.
