I enjoy listening to music on a daily basis. Sometimes I pop my iPhone into my docking station and crank out some tunes to help give me a boost of energy when cleaning, or to help me relax. Sometimes I write better when I have music playing in the background.
I have a lot of music on my iPhone. If you were to look at my music selections you’d see that I have a very eclectic taste in music. You’ll find songs from Pavarotti (Opera), Frank Sinatra, Beatles, Metallica, Marilyn Manson, Journey, Kelly Clarkson and even holiday tunes. Most of my music has an upbeat to it. Only a few songs are on my iPhone that are meant to relax to.
Sometimes people like to use the music from their iPhone (or similar device) to play at parties or barbecues. There are many external speakers on the market that will help amplify your music. After all, the iPhone doesn’t get very loud, even at maximum volume. At a party it would be hard to hear the music if there was a lot of people talking. That is why you need an external speaker.
Why have an ordinary, boring external speaker when you can invite a Party Animal to your next gathering. Party Animals are plush external speakers for your iPhone, iPod, laptop or similar device that not only amplify your music, but they also dance. Yes, you read the correctly – they dance! Party Animals dance to whatever music you are listening too.
Party Animals are from Cobra Digital and are available in four different designs – Spike (Black & White Dog), Sandy (Yellow Dog), Cleo (Yellow Cat) and Tom (Black & White Cat). Each stands approximately 13″ tall.
Each Party Animal dancing speaker features;
- Soft plush material
- Built-in speaker
- Dance ON/OFF button
- Audio cord included
- Takes 3 AA batteries (not included)
- Robotic movement sensor
- Velcro backing
- Power ON/OFF switch
They look like regular plush animals (a bit more realistic then a toy plush would look). I think they are cute.
We have Cleo, the yellow cat. We have five cats (and a dog), so it makes sense to have a dancing cat speaker to play our music.
Party Animals are all set to “shake their booty” the moment you take them out of the box. All you need to do is pop in 3AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located on it’s back, and you are ready to go. There is also an on/off switch located on the battery compartment so you can turn your Party Animal off when not in use.
All Party Animals come with a plug that you insert into you Party Animal (on the back of it’s foot) and the other end plugs into your device (laptop, MP3 player, iPod, iPhone…). Your Party Animal will dance to any music you play on your device.
I’ve noticed that it’s movements vary from song to song. Some songs the Party Animal seems to dance pretty much the same way. With other songs it seems to be more animated. I guess it depends on the beat.
Party Animals also have movable arms. Their dancing, and even their personalities, seem to change a bit when you move their arms.
I took a video of our Party Animal (Cleo). I used a variety of songs to give you an idea of how they work with your music. Just watching how Cleo wiggles around makes me laugh. It’s too funny! In fact she’s a bit of a distraction. When I have her in dance mode I tend to focus more on her and her dancing more so than my work. 🙂
Here is the video. It’s 3 minutes long. You can also find the video here, http://bit.ly/Vly4b1.
Towards the end of the video I pan up and down so you can see Cleo close up.
I think the audio turned out pretty good considering I was video taping it from my camera. It sound much louder and clearer in person.
You might notice that the fur on one leg “pops” from time to time. It’s just the way the fur was at the time I video taped it. It doesn’t normally do that. The fur on the leg is loose allowing it to freely move about.
You might also see a small red dot on her paw. That is an on/off button that will stop her from dancing so you can strictly just use her as an external speaker. All Party Animals have that feature. Although why you would want to stop then from dancing I don’t know. They are just too funny to watch.
My cats are not sure what to make of Cleo. They sniff her and watch her dance but I don’t think they trust her much. Either that or they are jealous of her because she can “bust a move” and they can’t. Ha Ha.
My teenagers love Cleo. I plan on getting them their own Party Animal for either their birthdays or Christmas. Since there are four designs I can get them each their own animal. And if I have three of them I might as well get the 4th one too. Then I’ll have the whole set. I would love to see them all dancing together. That would be hysterical!
Party Animals are NOT a toy. They can be easily broken, especially if dropped. Plus they are robotic, so they can get damaged and stop working.
Since they are so cute you can put them on your desk, dresser or nightstand and have them double as a decoration when not in use. Mine sits on my desk next to me and watches me work when I’m not listening to music. I just make sure to unplug her from my phone and hide the plug so my cats don’t chew on it.
Party Animals will certainly liven up any party, barbecue, slumber party or any other type of gathering. You get music and entertainment all in one adorable package.
Party Animals would make a great gift too!
Party Animals are sold separately and can be found at places like Walgreens and Amazon.com, in addition to other retail locations.
Cobra Digital, the company that makes Paryt Animals, also gives a portion of the Party Animal sales to support three different pet charities…
Paws Chicago (www.PawsChicago.org)
The Anti-Cruelty Society (www.AntiCruelty.org)
PETA (www.PETA.org)
When you make a purchase you will be supporting the adoption of homeless cats and dogs. As a “mom” to six adopted pets, five of which came from our local animals shelter (the sixth one was a stray that we took in), I am proud to support a company that cares so much about animals.
For more information about Party Animals visit www.DancingPartyAnimals.com. You can also find them on Facebook. Their Facebook page shows other designs (Panda, Rabbit, Dalmatian, Pug, Bear…). I am not sure if they are also available, or soon will be. None the less they are just as cute as the original four designs.
