I honestly don’t know who makes bigger messes around my home – my kids or my mini-zoo. One the one side you have my kids who are constantly knocking things over and dropping things. They know they are not allowed to eat or drink outside of the kitchen or dining room, but they are teenagers. Do you think they go along with the rules? Of course not. My daughter also spilled liquid eye liner on the carpet in the bedroom. I’m still trying to get those stains up.
On the other side we have my five pets. Between mud, “accidents” and hairballs, they really do a number on the carpet and furniture. When a hairball strikes it doesn’t matter where they are. They just chuck it right up. Usually hairballs don’t make much of a mess, but if it’s accompanied with cat food, then we have a problem.
Years ago we had a cat name Pixie. He was a HUGE male cat (yes… a big male cat name Pixie). The animal shelter named him that. It was such an odd name for such a big cat so we kept it.
Pixie had digestive issues and threw up all the time. Back then we had a light cream carpet. Apparently they use dyes in dry cat food because whenever he threw up it would leave a reddish stain behind. Eventually we had to replace the carpet because it was riddled with red stains.
Currently one of our cats has taken a liking to urinating on the carpet under my desk too.
I need to keep my home clean. Even though our condo is off the market we still live here and enjoy having people come over. The last thing I want is a stinky home with stains all over the place.
I am careful about what products I use in my home. They have to be non-toxic and Earth friendly. Not only for the health and safety of my family, but also my pets. Our cat Bella especially because she has severe asthma and allergies.
I was sent a bottle of a product called Kids n’ Pets All Purpose Stain and Odor Remover free to review. There was no compensation.
I am cautious about the cleaning products I use in my home but once I read that Kids n’ Pets All Purpose Stain and Odor remover was safe to use in my home I was happy to give it a try.
Kids n’ Pets All Purpose Stain and Odor Remover is…
- Non-toxic
- Non-flammable
- Non-irritating
- Biodegradable
- Cruelty free
This is exactly what I’m looking for in a household cleaning product.
Unlike other carpet cleaners this All Purpose Stain and Odor Remover can also be used in the laundry. How many other carpet stain removers can you also use with your laundry?
The first thing I noticed about the product is that it smells pretty good. It doesn’t have a noxious chemical scent to it. We have an industrial carpet cleaner that is used by professionals (my brother in law used to own a cleaning supply company) and it’s the most toxic smelling thing we’ve ever had – but it works so we’ve used it for years. I’m so relieved to have a cleaning product that works just as well as the professional grade cleaner but without the smell that makes you want to open up all the windows to get rid of it.
The product is super easy to use. First you need to test out a small area on your carpet to make sure that it won’t effect the color (we didn’t have any issues). You also need to shake the product before you use it.
For urine simply soak the area with the All Purpose Stain and Odor Remover and let air dry. That’s it! There is nothing else you need to do.
For stains you’ll need to remove as much of it as possible (another words wipe up the lose stuff). Then spray on some of the All Purpose product, let it soak for a few minutes, and wipe the area clean.
You can even use it in your carpet cleaner if you happen to have one. We have a Bissell carpet cleaner but haven’t had the opportunity to get it out and use it recently. When we do I’m going to use the All Purpose product instead of the pricey store bought solution.
The Kids n’ Pets All Purpose product DID remove the urine smell from under my desk. If you have a cat you know how horrible their urine can smell. This product really helped to remove the odor completely. Even my husband noticed when he had to do some work under my desk (my cat unplugged my desktop and he had to plug it back in). He was down on the floor and surprised that he no longer smelled “cat” as he put it.
We haven’t tried it in the laundry yet. I have read other reviews on this product and see that it removes stains from clothing as well as odors. The only reason why we haven’t tried it in the laundry yet is because my husband sees it as a pet stain remover for the carpet and can’t fathom putting it in with his work clothes. I told him the next time we do laundry we’ll test it out on my clothes. I certainly don’t mind.
Kids n’ Pets All Purpose Stain and Odor Remover is also very budget friendly. You can buy a huge 32 ounce bottle at Walmart for under $5.00. You can pick up a two pack on Amazon for only $12.99. I’ve spent that much money on ONE carpet cleaner, let alone two. So it’s certainly a great deal.

This sounds wonderful! I have two cats so it would come in handy. There is nothing worse then when one of them has an accident. I love that it is non-toxic. I am super sensitive to smells..

I like that they are non-toxic mostly. I sure can use this because of our two cats and the grandson . Lots of stains and odors here with them.

OMG!! I need some of this SO bad. We have a bichon frise that was confined to a kennel for the first 3 years of her life and was not potty trained when we got her. Try as we might, we can not get her to go potty outside on a regular basis. It’s hard living in an apartment because we have to take both of our dogs out on a regular basis. We put down massive numbers of pee pads and sure as shooting, she’ll go 2 inches from the pee pad. Then, when she has an accident, her brother will go pee on purpose right where she just had her accident. Of course, when she does go outside, I praise her to let her know she did a good job. Hopefully it’s just a matter of time when she’ll be fully potty trained.

Cleaning products are very important to me because I like everything to “shine” at home. Basically, I don’t feel well if I don’t have every corner as it should be. To be fair, I don’t own a very large apartment. 🙂
Thanks for the review, I will test this product.
