I am a “creature of habit”. While I do enjoy trying new things, I almost always go back to what I know and I tend to stick with the same things over and over again.
I’m a “coffee-holic”. I NEED at least one cup of coffee per day. Mostly in the morning but I often enjoy a cup in the afternoon or in the evening. I almost always use the same brand and type of coffee, but I do enjoy trying out other flavors.
I love my Keurig. My Keurig is my life. Without it I’d be lost.
As a Keurig Ambassador I have had the honor of trying out different flavors and brands for the Keurig. In the past I have tried out Donut House Coffees. They are available in Regular, Decaf, Cinnamon Roll and Chocolate Glazed Donut. For some odd reason this time around the regular blend just stuck with me and now I’m totally into it. So much so I had to go out and buy more.
The Donut House regular blend is a light roast. It’s not as strong and bitter as other coffees. In fact my husband even said it wasn’t bad, and he hates coffee. He’s used to my medium roast blend. The lighter roast Donut House blend actually appeals to him.
I consider the regular blend as a great, all around, any time of the day type of coffee. Some people prefer a bolder coffee in the AM or the afternoon to give them a jolt to perk them up. Other times a strong coffee is not needed, you just want the flavor of coffee. The Donut House regular blend is that kind of coffee. It’s great any time of the day – morning, noon or night (providing you can have caffeine and still get to sleep). There is a decaf version which tastes exactly like the non-decaf coffee. You can’t tell the difference. If you are used to the regular caffeinated blend and someone switched it with the decaf you would never know the difference. That is unless you get headaches from caffeine withdrawal. Then you might be on to the fact that it’s decaf.
Donut House offers very unique flavors – Cinnamon Roll and Chocolate Glaze Donut. And yes – they actually taste like the pastries too. In fact my kids (teens) LOVE the Chocolate Glazed Donut so much that they used all the K-cup portion packs that I had for it. My kids do like coffee, but they are only allowed to have decaf. Sadly the Chocolate Glazed Donut flavor is not decaf. I figured it was OK as a treat. After all, there is caffeine is soda too, which many kids drink on a daily basis (my kids don’t – we rarely drink soda unless at a party or BBQ).
I’m not sure if it really tastes like a glazed donut, but it does taste like chocolate. Not hot cocoa type of chocolate either – it has a different taste. I think that is why my kids like it so much.
The Cinnamon Roll coffee does taste just like a cinnamon roll. It’s really cool how they were able to turn a Cinnamon Roll into a coffee. It’s as if they took a cinnamon roll and blended it up and then added in some coffee. That is exactly what it tastes like. Needless to say it’s yummy.
Many people spend a small fortune going to their local coffee shop to enjoy coffee and donuts. Why not combine the two and enjoy them in the comfort of your own home with Donut House coffees.
Have you ever tried the Donut House blends? Do you have a favorite? If so, feel free to leave a comment and let me know. I would love to hear your thoughts.
