Do you love surprises? I sure do. It doesn’t matter how big or small they are. Just the other day I received a package of marshmallow Peeps in the mail that I didn’t expect. That totally made my day. It doesn’t take much to make me happy. A postcard, a handwritten letter… anything that surprises me it greatly appreciated.
How would you like to get make up or jewelry in the mail every month, and not know exactly what goodies are going to be inside the box? That is exactly what a company called Wantable does for their customers.
Wantable is an ecommerce company that focuses on makeup and/or jewelry that is personalized just for you.
The first thing you need to do when you visit the Wantable website is to decide if you want the make up surprise package, or the jewelry surprise package.
After you decide you need to take a brief quiz. Don’t worry, there are no wrong answers. 🙂 The quiz helps the Wantabe experts chose the right type of jewelry and/or make up that is right for you based on your answers.
Wantable works with both big and small brands. Some examples of brands they work with include 29 Cosmetics, Real Techniques, Bombshell and Whip Hand Cosmetics with just launched for the Spring.
There are different quizzes depending on if you want a make up surprise box or a jewelry surprise box. If you decide to get one of each you’ll have to take both quizzes since each quiz is geared towards make up or jewelry (not both).
Each surprise box has $80-$100 worth of products in it.
You can either buy just one box (no monthly subscription) for $40, or subscribe monthly for $36. The price includes shipping.
Wantable is so sure that you’ll love what you receive that they have a 100% satisfaction guaranteed and offer free return shipping.
Wantable sent me a box to review. I opted for the jewelry box. When my box arrived I found a black velvet like pouch with the following jewelry inside.
- Necklace with matching earrings
I TRIED to take good pictures of each piece. All the photos turned out horrible, especially the ring photo. As you look at these pictures please note that the jewelry is a hundred times nicer in person. The photos are just really bad.
My daughter went crazy for these silver tone earrings. She wears them frequently. They really stand out against her long reddish brown hair. The look really heavy but they are not as heavy as I thought they would be.
This is a gold necklace (I believe it’s an 18″ chain). It has a small hallow ball at the end as seen in the picture. It’s very lightweight and simple. It is a nice accent piece to wear with a “V” neck blouse. It’s subtle. I like that. I’m not big on “flashy” pieces.
This is a gold necklace and earring set. The picture is horrible. The flash took all the color out of it. It’s really gold (not silver like it appears).
This is a nice necklace. It makes a bold statement. At first I didn’t think I’d like it but after wearing it the necklace grew on me. What I like about is is that just the one end is the big, chunky links. The rest of the necklace is a thinner chain link necklace (double).
The earrings match the necklace perfectly. They are not too big. The just give your ears a touch of gold.
I like this set because it works with casual looks as well as dressy looks.
This photo is HORRIBLE. I took several pictures of the ring and none of them turned out OK.
The ring is gold in color. The square areas on the ends are different shade of pink/peach. The ring also has a spring on it allowing you to open/close it to fit on your finger. That way it can adjust to your ring size.
The ring was not my “cup of tea”, but my teen daughter likes it so I gave it to her. She’s happy with it.
Over all I am pleased with the jewelry. It’s not something I would go to the store and pick out for myself, but after trying them on I really liked them. I think that is part of the fun of Wantabe. Because you never know what you are going to get it opens you up to try new things. Who knows, you might just truly love a piece of jewelry or a brand of make up that you might not otherwise give a fair chance to if you saw it in the store.
These are not fine jewelry pieces. These are what you would consider fashion jewelry. That is fine with me. I don’t feel comfortable wearing $$$$ things.
I did not try out the make up box but I would assume it comes with a lovely assortment of goodies too.
If you are looking to explore new make up brands, or receive an unexpected piece of jewelry, then check out Wantable, www.Wantable.co (It’s NOT .com – it’s .co!). You can also check them out on Facebook and Twitter. I even found them on Pinterest.
