Les Miserables now available on Movies on Demand (giveaway ends 4/18/13)

 Les Miserables Movie Poster 2012

There are (and were) so many movies I wanted to see in theaters. Sadly I don’t get a chance very often to go to the movies. When I do I have to find something that my husband would find enjoyable too.

One film I REALLY want to see is Les Miserables. The moment I heard about the film, long before it was in theaters, I wanted to see it. I was already familiar with the story (compliments of High School English class – we had to read the book). I think I wanted to see it more so for the actors and their singing. I adore Hugh Jackman and I think he’s a talented singer. I was suprised that Anne Hathaway had such a beautiful voice too. I knew Amanda Seyfried could sing, but I never knew Russell Crowe could belt out a tune too.

If you are unfamiliar with the story, Les Miserables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption – a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The movie will tug at your heartstrings. It also has an amazing soundtrack.

Anne Hathaway won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film. The film also won the Oscar for Best Sound Mixing and Best Make Up & Hairstyling.

Did you know that all the songs sung in the film were filmed LIVE? Normally actors move their mouths as if they are singing, then sing in a recording studio and have the audio added to the film. That was not the case with Les Miserables. As they were filming each scene that had a song the actors were not only singing the song live, it was also being recorded live as well.

Thankfully I don’t have to wait to see the film anymore. Not only is it available on Blu-ray and DVD, but it’s also available on Movies on Demand. That means I can watch it right now and not have to worry about driving to the rental place to pick it up and then have to worry about getting it back on time tomorrow (I used to always get hit with late fees on rentals).

Aside from not having to worry about getting a rental back on time and not having to travel, Movies on Demand is also a lot less expensive than other rental places AND you can do it all from the comfort of your own home. Plus with Movies on Demand you can invite over your family and friends and make a movie night out of it.
