Spring time means Easter, trees covered in buds, warmer weather and of course the NCAA play offs.
My children are not overly interested in who wins (they don’t have a favorite team) however they love to do the bracket and pick a winner. My son has an uncanny ability to pick the winner – and he knows nothing about basketball. I joke with my hubby that we should place a bet on who wins, based on who my son thinks would win. We’re not betting people so we won’t do that, but it’s fun to see my son pick the winner again.
My dad was a huge Duke fan. He actually liked the girl’s basketball team, but he always wanted to see the male team win the NCAA final.
Did you know that Reese’s has partnered with the NCAA to create a site called Let’s Go Reese’s?
Reeses… oh my! They are my weakness. If I was going to be dropped off on a deserted island for the rest of my life but I was only able to take one candy with me, it would be Reese’s (of course I’d need some place to keep them cool so they don’t melt). The chocolate… the peanut butter… it’s a match made in heaven!
Reese’s sent me some goodies to review (there was also no compensation) and to tell you about their cool website, Let’s Go Reeses.
LetsGoREESES.com is the ultimate fan-focused website giving NCAA enthusiasts a fun resource to celebrate sports, from university traditions and interactive apps to game day recipes and beyond. You MUST check out the recipes! Oh my goodness! They will make you drool!
I especially like the basketball shaped “Slam Dunk Cookies” pictured directly above. I think they could make fun pumpkin cookies too (just add a stalk).
There are some fun activities on the site too. For example there is a Nickname Generator. My NCAA nickname is Golden Lady Rukus.
There is even a sweepstakes you can enter to win great prizes including tickets to the Men’s Final Four. Hurry! The sweepstakes ends on April 8, 2013.
Through its national partnership with IMG College, LetsGoREESES.com will feature the inside scoop about these fan traditions—and more—from the University of Kentucky, Duke University and University of Florida chronicled in a video series hosted by the hilarious Joey Bland, an improver / actor trained at the infamous Second City. Moreover, site visitors can visit the Bland-penned blog “On the Sidelines” that details NCAA fan news and game results.
I got a kick out of the videos on the site too. One of my favorite is The Moose is Loose.
You can find videos on the Let’s Go Reese’s website. You can also find them on their YouTube page, www.YouTube.com/Reeses.
LetsGoReeses.com is the ultimate online resource for college basketball fandom. From a video series chronicling the traditions of the University of Kentucky, Florida and Duke, to a game-day sign-generator (and more!), this Hub was designed to celebrate college basketball fans everywhere.
To check out the site for yourself visit www.LetsGoReeses.com.
