I have a very eclectic taste in music. You’ll find a little of everything on my iPhone. I like all types of music including opera, jazz, blues, heavy metal, pop and even the great old standards. I’m not a big fan of country but I’ll admit that I do have one country song on my iPhone at the moment.
I love listening to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Andy Williams and Bing Crosby. I get a kick out of those great old songs.
When Michael Bublé, the dapper man in the suit, first came on the scene I was instantly smitten with the crooner. He has the perfect voice for singing all the great “oldies but goodies”. Of course his own music is great too, but I do love it when he sings the classics.
I recently had the opportunity to listen to Michael’s newest album, To Be Loved. It features old classics and even a few new songs by Michael. Michael even has a duet on the album with actress Reese Witherspoon and another that features Bryan Adams.
Here are the album’s tracks.
1. “You Make Me Feel So Young”
2. “It’s a Beautiful Day”
3. “To Love Somebody”
4. “Who’s Lovin You”
5. “Something Stupid” (featuring Reese Witherspoon)
6. “Come Dance with Me”
7. “Close Your Eyes”
8. “After All” (featuring Bryan Adams)
9. “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You” (with Naturally 7)
10. “To Be Loved”
11. “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”
12. “Nevertheless (I’m in Love with You)” (featuring The Puppini Sisters)
13. “I Got It Easy”
14. “Young at Heart”
As you can see the Grammy winner has covered songs by Elvis, Van Morrison, the Bee Gees and even Frank Sinatra for this ablum. There are also four original songs that were co-written by Bublé where he used his own personal life for inspiration.
According to Michael;
“I wrote Close Your Eyes about my wife and about the power of all the women in my life—my sisters, my mom, my grandma and all women in general. Let’s face it, where would we be without them? I Got It Easy, another original, is basically a song where I count my blessings and is a reminder to me and everyone to appreciate all the good parts of life. I’m a very lucky guy and I never want to forget it.”
This album has a little bit of everything but most of all it’s romantic and heartfelt.
I’m surprised that Reese is such a good singer. Their duet is really sweet.
Close Your Eyes (the song he wrote for his wife and the special women in his life) is BEAUTIFUL! I love it. It’s one of my favorite songs on the album. You can tell it’s a heartfelt song. You can feel the love he has for these women in his words.
I love You Got a Friend in Me because Toy Story is one of my all time favorite movies and I love hearing that song. Michael’s version is wonderful.
You Make Me Feel So Young will always remind me of the movie Elf.
Michael’s renditions of Young at Heart and To Love Somebody are spot on too. He doesn’t alter the songs like he sometimes does. He stays true to the songs. His voice is perfect for them.
If you are a fan of the Canadian crooner Michael Bublé, enjoy love songs or appreciate the great classics, you’ll enjoy this albums.
Michael will be making some TV appearances. He’ll be on Dancing with the Stars tonight (4/30/13) and on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on May 3, 2013. Please check your local TV Guide for channel and air time.

Here are a few more Michael Bublé videos from this album. My favorite is the one where he performs in the NYC subway. I bet those subway riders were very surprised.
