Have you checked out the current BrandSAVER coupon booklet that came out in newspapers nationwide yesterday (March 31, 2013)? If you didn’t get a chance to check out the paper due to the Easter holiday I would recommend that you do so right away. Inside you’ll find a lot of great money saving coupons for P&G’s most loved products ranging from cleaning products to beauty products.
Just about a week or so ago I was in CVS picking up some new mascara (CoverGirl). I found it interesting that some of the packages were marked with a big P&G logo on them. I sometimes forget that most brands are connected to a much larger brand. For example, CoverGirl is part of the P&G family brand.
I’ve grown up using CoverGirl products, most especially the mascara. I like the CoverGirl line of products because they work well and they are more affordable than other brands available on the market. Not only that, I trust the brand since I have been using it since I was a teenager (and I’m “ancient” now).
I like CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Mascara (Very Black). That is the mascara I’ve been using for probably well over a year now. I love how much volume it gives my otherwise sparse lashes. It also washes off well which is important to me. I can’t stand mascaras that won’t come off (like waterproof mascara). At the end of the day I want all my make up removed.
I also love the brush this mascara uses. It makes me feel like I have more control over it.
For the record, I received free product samples to review (there was no compensation) however pretty much all of the products I buy on a regular basis anyway.
Another great CoverGirl product is their CoverGirl Outlast Double Lipshine in Sheerly Nude. I’m not a big fan of lipsticks (I hate the way they feel and they dry my lips). I prefer lip products that are more like lip gloss or lip stain. Since I’m super duper pale (we’re talking ghostly white!), I cannot pull off dark lip colors. I tend to lean more towards the sheer or very light colors. I like the CoverGirl Sheerly Nude color becuase there is color, but it’s not something that jumps off your face. I love his it shimmers in the sunlight too.
This product can be worn to the office or a night on the town. You can also use it to run errands around town without looking too made up.
Speaking of beauty products, another P&G product line is Olay. I use Olay facial moisturizer just about every day. I use the one with sun protection in it because I’m very pale and I burn very easily. The only time I won’t use the product (alone) is when I am going out in the sun (like to the beach or on a picnic). Then I’ll use sunscreen specifically for the face, only because I need a bit more protection.
I’ve recently tried the Olay 4-in-1 Daily Facial Cloths. These cleansing clothes are a cleanser, toner, mask and scrub all in one cloth. They have dual textures. One side helps to exfoliate and deep clean down to the pores to eliminate impurities. The smooth side gently breaks up dirt, oil and make-up (even mascara).
I gave a few of these to my daughter so she can keep them in her bag as school. Sometimes at gym she gets hot and sweaty. Rather than let oils and sweat sit on her face until she gets home she can take one of the wipes and wash her face in the locker room and have clean, refreshed skin for the remainder of the school day. They also help on those days that she has swimming at school. She uses them to wash off her mascara and other make up so that she doesn’t come out of the pool looking like a raccoon. LOL!
Pantene is another brand under the P&G family brand name. I use Pantene shampoo and conditioners often. I’ve never tried their hairspray until now. I was sent (free of charge with no compensation) Pantene Hairspray Flexible Hold. My hair is in a growing out phase where it’s not always cooperating with me. I tend to have hair that stands up or won’t stay where I want it to. I’ve used this hairspray a few times. Not only does it hold but it also leaves your hair feeling nice – not stiff or sticky. That is my biggest pet peeve when it comes to hairspray. I can’t stand the stiff, sticky feeling. Not only that it’s impossible to comb. That was not the case with the Pantene hairspray. It held my hair and left it feeling pliable and able to be combed when necessary.
The only thing I didn’t like about the hairspray is that it’s an aerosol spray and I don’t like using them in my home, not only because they are harmful to the environment but also I don’t want anything to bother our asthmatic cat.
Now that short season is fast approaching it’s time to get your legs into tip top shape. One thing you are going to need is a good razor, such as Venus and Olay razor. I reviewed this razor not too long ago. If you would like to read my review you are most than welcome to check it out here – Venus and Olay razor review.
P&G offers consumers much more than just beauty products. They also offer cleaning (and freshening) products too. One such product I use every day is Swiffer Dusters. I keep one on my desk so that I can quickly give my desk a “once over” every day. With five cats and a dog, plus living near the parking lot, there is a lot of dust and dander in my home. I have to keep on top of it or our place would be a mess.
I love using the Swiffer Dusters because they help to “grab” dust, dander and debris and they don’t push it around like a dust cloth would do. After you use them for a while they start to get gray in color which indicates that they are dirty which means they have been grabbing a hold of the dust and other nasty stuff. You simply toss it away and grab a fresh one.
My favorite Swiffer products (both duster and wet mop pads) are the ones that come scented with Febreze scents.
I love Febreze. It’s another one of my favorite brands. I use the spray to freshen up my home on a daily basis too. I love how they come in a variety of scents. They can really make a difference in the room. With five cats and a dog I need to make sure my furniture smells good. They don’t normally sleep on the furniture but every now and then they do.
Have you tried the Febreze Car Vent Clips? You can bring the same great Febreze scents into your car. I think the commercials push it a bit too far (there is no way they can cover up a car full of actual garbage), but they do give your car a light, pleasant scent. I see it more as an air freshener rather than an odor eliminator.
After having to keep the windows in the car rolled up all Winter it’s nice to add a fresh scent to your otherwise stuffy smelling car.
One other P&G brand is Tide. We use Tide laundry detergents as well as the Tide to Go stick. My daughter is a stain magnet! I am constantly having to put stain remover on her clothing. Actually yesterday I almost had a stain on my nice blouse when a blueberry rolled off my waffle and almost brushed against my blouse. Blueberries are horrible! I love them as a fruit but they can really stain things. Right now I’m dealing with a blueberry stain in the kitchen sink.
The Tide to Go stick is small and compact and a must have for any purse, glove compartment or desk. You just never know when a stain might occur.
Make sure you check out the BrandSAVER for coupons for these products and more. Some products might be swapped based on availability too.
