Dollar General to honor our military as Every Day Heroes in June (giveaway ends 6/10/13)

Earlier this week was Memorial Day, a day to honor and celebrate those brave men and women who risk their lives defending our country and our freedoms. I know that many people see it as the unofficial start to summer, but it is very important to also take to heart the reason why we have this holiday in our country.

Procter & Gamble (P&G) has teamed up with Dollar General to honor our military as Every Day Heroes in June. Many soldiers who return from service continue to help out in their communities. P&G and Dollar General want to celebrate these amazing people.

Dollar General has chosen Sparky Edwards as its Every Day Hero for June 2013.

Sparky exemplifies the Every Day Hero. He is a retired, decorated military veteran who served in South Korea and in Iraq.  Once an at-risk teenager, Sparky turned his life around with the help of a National Guard youth academy.  The fresh start helped him earn his GED and enter the military. Today he is a successful business owner, pursuing his PhD and paying it forward by volunteering to mentor at-risk teenagers.

Just as military families have made a commitment to our country, Dollar General has committed to delivering valuable savings on America’s favorite brands – every day!

June’s brandSAVER will be released in your local paper this Sunday (June 2, 2013). Inside you’ll find great savings on many popular brands.

You can use the P&G coupons found in the brandSAVER at your local Dollar General where you can get high quality P&G products at great prices. Some products include Tide, Gain, Downy and Febreze.

P&G and Dollar General have a special prize package for a lucky reader. The prize package includes:

  • Gain Fireworks- In-Wash Scent Booster for your Laundry
  • Gain Bar – Dryer Bar Lasts up to 3 Months
  • Febreze Car Clip – Eliminates Odors and Releases a Fresh Scent
  • $10 Dollar General Gift Card

This giveaway is open to US residents only and will end on June 10, 2013 at 11:59 PM (EST). The winner will be chosen at random using a random number generator from all eligible entries. The winner will be notified via e-mail and will have three days to reply or a new winner will be chosen in their place.

To enter please leave a comment on this post and tell me about an “everyday hero” in your life (military or otherwise).
