I have mentioned it in the past that I love reviewing bath & body, as well as beauty products. I guess that is the “girly-girl” side of me coming out. 🙂
Growing up I never gave much thought to “beauty” and “youth”. Even as a teenager and young adult I never gave it much thought. For example, sunscreen was totally unheard of in my life until about 10+ years ago when the Dermatologist removed 6 “suspicious” moles from my back. From that day forward I won’t leave the house without sunscreen, nor will I let my children go out in the sun without it.
I also didn’t take things like wrinkles and age spots into consideration until I started to see them on my face. I think the wrinkles stayed off my face for a longer time than with others because I’m overweight and the excess fat in my face played to my advantage. I’m not an expert so I don’t know if that is true or not. I’m just assuming that is the reason why.
Now that I just passed my 45th birthday (blah!) I am noticing more and more things wrong with my skin. I don’t look youthful anymore… I’m starting to look like I’m aging, and that is bothersome to me. I know age and aging is a part of life. And I’m one of those women who will have cosmetic procedures galore to fight off aging (although if I had the $$ I might consider it). Some things are inevitable, like wrinkles.
I was recently asked to review a product from the PrecisionMD line.
PrecisionMD delivers unique, innovative skincare solutions that improve the quality of life for those affected by skin conditions around the world. Our portfolio of unique innovative products provides medical specialists and their patients with comprehensive, science-based skincare products that deliver visible results.
I have never heard of the company or products before so I figured it would be fun to try them out.
I was sent a bottle of their PrecisionMD Celfix DNA Youth Recovery Lotion. I’m the “queen” of lotions. I have a ton of them. Some work, some don’t. Some are good for one part of my body, but not another part.
I suffer from dry skin all the time. Especially in the winter months. I apply lotion all day long, especially to my hands. When it comes to body lotion I only do it once a day, when I remember to do so that is.
I have to admit that I wasn’t expecting the “wow factor” with this lotion. After all, it’s just another body lotion – or is it?
PrecisionMD Celfix DNA Youth Recovery Lotion comes in a pump bottle. The lotion is very lightweight and scentless. It applies easily to the skin and absorbs quickly.
What I like about this lotion is that after it absorbs your skin has a silky soft sheen to it (for lack of a better description). Your skin looks shiny (but not in a tacky Girls Night Out way). I would liken it more to a “healthy glow”. Your skin appears healthy and moisturized.
I use this all over my body, including my hands and my feet. The only thing I don’t use it on is my face (I’m not sure if it’s meant for the face).
The lotion is suppose to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (can you get those on your body?) as well as the effects of the sun. It’s suppose to help improve skin tone and texture, hydrate and smooth and delay visible signs of aging.
I didn’t know your body can have wrinkles and fine lines. I haven’t noticed any. Maybe being overweight has something to do with that.
Since using the lotion I haven’t noticed any visible changes due to the effects of the sun. As I mentioned earlier I avoid the sun and when I’m outside I slather on sunscreen.
What I have noticed is that it does hydrate and smooth my skin. I’m not sure about toning but my skin feels soft and smooth, so I would consider that “texture”.
I like the lotion. I truly do. It even helps my hands too.
