Nature Valley has some new products on the market that I thought my readers might want to know more about.
Nature Valley sent me a couple of samples of their new products to review.
The new Nature Valley Soft-Baked Oatmeal Squares are made with 100% natural grain oats. They are available in two yummy flavors – Cinnamon Brown Sugar and Peanut Butter. I could not wait to try the peanut butter.
The new soft-baked squares are the perfect size for snacking. It’s just enough to satisfy your cravings. Each one is individually packaged making them and ideal on-the-go snack.
I read the ingredients on both packages and I don’t see anything that I can’t pronounce or understand what it is. They contain things like whole grain oats, whole grain wheat, brown sugar, canola oil, baking soda, water and other ingredients.
The peanut butter flavor is totally delicious. I love peanut butter and I was very pleased with the peanut butter square.
The Cinnamon Brown Sugar reminds me of a cinnamon bun. My husband goes crazy for cinnamon buns. I let him try one of the squares and he was very impressed. He said he could easily swap out a regular cinnamon bun with one of the Nature Valley Soft-Baked Oatmeal Square. He even suggested that the next time we have the Cinnamon Brown Sugar flavor that we try warming it in the microwave for a few seconds.
Compared to an actual cinnamon bun the oatmeal square is a better-for-you option.
In addition to the new Soft-Baked Oatmeal Squares, Nature Valley also has available Protein Granola. This loose, bagged granola product has 10 grams of protein and at least 23 grams of whole grains per serving. It’s available in two flavors – Oats ‘n Honey and Oats ‘n Dark Chocolate.
We have the Oats ‘n Honey variety. My daughter cannot get enough of it. She eats it straight from the bag (she pours some in her hand) or she puts some in a bowl and eats it with a spoon like a regular cereal. She’s already asking me to get more and we still have a full package left (we received two bags of the Oats n’ Honey to review). I won’t tell her about the Oats ‘n Dark Chocolate variety because she’ll want me to go to the store NOW to get that.
I have tried the granola too. Oh my! It’s very good. It doesn’t mention it on the bag but I can taste a bit of vanilla in the granola too. Or at least that is how it tastes in my opinion.
I haven’t tried it yet but I can easily see me adding this on top of ice cream, yogurt, oatmeal and even salad. It’s also perfect “as is”. You can truly enjoy this straight out of the bag. I know my daughter sure has.
My daughter wants to make peanut butter balls with this granola. I’m very tempted to try that. Then again I love peanut butter and this granola is delicious so I might end up eating them all by myself.

If you find that you need a “pick-me-up” late in the afternoon, or find yourself at the vending machine often I would recommend putting some of this granola in snack size Ziploc bags and keeping a few in your desk drawer. That way you can curve your appetite and sweet tooth at the same time and eat something that provides you with protein and whole grains – unlike a bag of chips or a candy bar would.
