When it comes to summer entertaining you can never have enough supplies. Sometimes you never know if people will stop by unexpectedly or if you might end up having an impromptu get together. That is why I always make sure that I have plenty of the basic supplies on hand like napkins, plates and beverage cups (hot and cold).
We don’t always buy things in bulk, but when it comes to party supplies we do. You can never have too many. Even if you don’t use them for parties or barbecues they are still great to have on hand for those nights when you don’t want to be bothered with doing dishes. On nights we order pizza we often use disposable (ideally recyclable) plates.
If you happen to have a BJ’s Wholesale Club membership, or live near a BJ’s Wholesale Club, you should stop by and stock up on party essentials. While you are there you should check out all the other summer time things BJ’s Wholesale Club has to offer members.
My husband and I recently took a trip to our local BJ’s Wholesale Club. We don’t have a membership, but we were able to get a one day pass. Anyone can get a one day pass but note that you will pay 15% more than club members pay.
We have never been to our local BJ’s Wholesale Club before. We wanted to check it out.
As soon as we walked in we saw all the items you might need (or want) for the summer time. From barbecues to lounge chairs (the kind you take with you on the beach) and from outdoor lighting (great for entertaining) to bulk food supplies (ketchup, mustard, chips…) you’ll find everything you need this summer.
We even came across a Tiki Bar for sale. If we had a backyard I would love to buy this.
My husband and I went into BJ’s Wholesale Club in hopes of picking up some entertaining supplies (plates, cups, napkins…) but ended up spending most of the time checking out the other summer time items. I was especially interested in the solar lantern. I wanted to get them for our balcony. I think they would have looked great. My husband didn’t think they would work as well since we have street lights in the parking lot.
We fell in love with their retro appliances including a microwave and small freezer. If I had the $$$ I would have at least bought the microwave. It’s so cool!
We went to BJ’s Wholesale Club to pick up supplies and eventually made our way to the plates, cups and napkin section. Oh my! They had so many choices! They had entire aisles dedicated to them. WOW!
We eventually picked out some colorful plates and some cups. We were going to get some napkins too but my husband felt we had plenty at home.
On our way to the cash register we found S’mores kits. Oh my! If I wasn’t on the Jenny Craig program trying to lose a few pounds I would have picked up one of these kits for my family. Yummy!
We walked out of BJ’s Wholesale Club with some plates, cups, a giant tub of mini pretzels (always great for snacks and to serve to guests) and a beautiful ornament that twirls in the wind. I did have a photo of our purchases but I can’t find it.
The ornament is going to be hung up on our balcony as soon as my hubby gets around to hanging it up. It’s pretty. It has a 3D butterfly that looks like it’s flapping it’s wings when it spins in the wind.
I did see other things I wanted to pick up (mostly in the grocery aisle). The day we visited BJ’s Wholesale Club it was very hot and humid. We didn’t want to bring home anything that was perishable because we were planning on going a few other places after BJ’s Wholesale Club.
Now that we’ve visited our local BJ’s Wholesale Club I’m sure we’ll be back again in the future. Especially because they were starting to put out some back to school supplies and they had SIX binders for $8.00. That is a great price. We’ve paid close to that amount for just one binder at other stores.
Do you have a BJ’s Wholesale Club near you? Do you shop there for all your summer time needs and supplies?
