Even though my kids don’t start school for well over a month, I’m already getting into the back-to-school frame of mind. I think it’s because every time we walk into a store we see school supplies on display. For some odd reason my kids have their school schedules already too. Normally they don’t get them until the end of August. It’s as if the school and the stores are trying to rush summer along so that school can start again.
Both of my kids are in high school this year (a Freshman and a Junior). Last year both of my kids had really early lunches. My daughter started school around 7:00 AM and her lunch was around 9:30 (3rd period). She wasn’t hungry at that time so she would usually go all day without eating much except for an apple or a sandwich. My son also had an early lunch. He wasn’t hungry at that time and he ate nothing all day (even though I encouraged him to bring a snack at least). By the time he got home he was so hungry he would inhale anything that wasn’t nailed down.
Thankfully this year both kids have decent lunch periods. I’ll be able to send them off with a decent lunch so that by the time they get home all they would need is a snack to hold them over until dinner.
When it comes to snacks I always try to keep a healthy selection on hand. In our fridge you can always find yogurt, baby carrots, cheese sticks and apples. I also try and pick up whatever fruit and veggie is on sale. I always make sure to wash and cut up some of the fruits and veggies making them easier to grab for and snack on.
I’m fortunate that my kids love all kinds of fruits and veggies, including broccoli, spinach and even chickpeas (they make for a nice snack too).
My kids love to make smoothies. Sadly our blender was packed away when we decided to put our condo on the market. I tried to pack away “non-essentials’ not realizing just how much my kids love to make smoothies. I should have kept it. Now it’s next to impossible to find (I don’t know what box it’s in).
My kids love fruit, yogurt and smoothies. When I heard about Frusion C-Charged I knew I had to pick up some for my kids to try.
Frusion C-Charged is a creamy yogurt with real fruit pieces. It contains a full day’s worth of Vitamin C. It is also a good source of protein, which is something I worry that my kids are not getting enough of. It also has half of your daily calcium requirement. Frusion C-Charged does not contain high fructose corn syrup either.
Needless to say this is a snack any mom would be happy to serve their children.
Frusion C-Charge comes in individual bottles and four packs. They are great for on-the-go snacking. They are also a good size to stick into your child’s backpack so that they can have a healthy snack at school in hopes that they avoid things like chips and cookies. You don’t even need a spoon.
Frusion C-Charged needs to be kept cold so I would recommend picking up an ice pack if your child will be enjoying it at school. Aside from that all you need to do is give it a good shake to make sure all the fruit pieces are mixed well and enjoy.
I picked up two packages for my kids – Strawberry and Strawberry & Banana. I was able to try the Strawberry flavor. My kids finished off the other ones. So far they have only enjoyed them at home (except my daughter dashed out the door yesterday to go out with a friend and had one with her). When my kids go back to school I’ll be sure to tuck on inside their backpacks (they are in high school now – lunchboxes are so passé. LOL!).
Frusion C-Charged tastes just as good as a smoothie you could make at home except all you need to do is shake and open the bottle. With smoothies you make at home you need to buy the ingredients, cut up the fruit, blend everything plus wash the dishes (blend and cup). With Frusion C-Charged you just shake the bottle, twist open the lid, drink and enjoy then rinse it out and toss the bottle into the recycle bin.
You can tell it’s made with real fruit. You can smell it the moment you open the bottle. You can also taste it. When I tried the Strawberry flavored Frusion C-Charged it tasted like I was drinking strawberries, except it was rich, thick and creamy. 🙂

I’ve never tried Fusion C Charged but they do sound delicious. I love yogurt, especially when they contain real fruit pieces. I don’t eat a lot of sugary sweets so a cup of yogurt or a yogurt smoothie is like dessert to me. I’m going to have to pick these up next time I’m at the grocery. Thanks for posting 🙂

I have tried the regular smoothie drinks I haven’t tried the C charged ones yet. We love the other ones but I would like to try the C charged to make sure my kids are getting enough Vit C. Thanks for the info about the rebate.
