I am always thrilled to try out beauty products. The older I get the more little “quirks” with my face I begin to notice, like sags under my eyes and “crows feet”. When did that happen? It seemed like they appeared overnight.
I’m not going to fight getting older, per say. What I mean is I’m not going to rush out and get plastic surgery done, a face lift or injections. I will however do the best I can to grow old “gracefully”. I’m 45. I don’t want to look 55 (some day I think I do look that old). I’m not trying to look 25 either. I’d be happy shaving 10 years off my age with my appearance, if possible.
I was sent to review a bottle of Nerium AD Age Defying Treatment.
As per the company…
Some of the greatest breakthroughs in skincare are discovered by accident. I’d like to introduce you to NeriumAD Age-Defying Treatment, the first and only product on the market to utilize the Nerium oleander plant extract.
NeriumAD is a night cream that harnesses the patent-pending NAE-8 extract from the Nerium oleander plant. This extract, in conjunction with other synergistic, age-defying ingredients, is responsible for dramatic results.
Formulated after more than 10 years of scientific research and clinical testing by scientists and medical professionals, including a third party research firm, NeriumAD is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of multiple skincare concerns at once, including fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, enlarged pores and uneven skin texture.
On their website there are plenty of before and after photos that show some pretty amazing results. I knew I had to try it for myself.
Here are a few of the before/after photos from their website.
They look impressive, especially the lady pictured above with the saggy neck and odd wrinkles on her chest.
I wanted to “plump” up the wrinkles and sags on my face, as well as my sagging neck (my neck is one of the things I hate most about my face). I was also hoping that maybe the product would help ease up the deep “laugh lines” around my mouth.
I’ve been using the product for a little over a month now.
DON’T apply this to dry skin. You’ll never be able to properly distribute it around your face. The lotion is very thick and does not spread out easily . Your face has to be damp in order for you to spread it out.
It leaves your face with a tight, sticky feeling. It seems to take a long time to absorb into your skin. I didn’t mind so much since you are suppose to use this at night before going to bed. When you are sleeping it’s not a big deal, but if you have a restless night (like I have been having a lot of lately) the stickiness and tightness can be a bit annoying and uncomfortable.
You leave the product on all night then wash it off in the morning.
I made extra certain that my neck area was fully covered. That is the area I wanted to see the most improvement.
It’s been little over a month. To be honest, sometimes I think I see an improvement in my neck area. It’s still saggy but it doesn’t have as many wrinkles and creases in it as it did (or so it appears). However sometimes when I turn my head to the left I can see one area on my neck, close to my chin, about the size of a golf ball, that seems to change it’s appearance/texture. Then when I turn my head to the right, then straight again it’s gone. It’s the craziest thing!
I don’t know if the light in the bathroom has anything to do with it. The light comes from the window to the right (when looking at the mirror). It might just be how the light emphases the right side of my neck. Do you know what I mean? It’s just very weird.
As far as the sags and wrinkles on my face I don’t notice any difference. They appear to be the same.
I tried to take pictures of my face. I cringe when I see them and I rather not post my ugly mug in a blog post. I also tried to get photos of the weird neck thing I mentioned but it was hard to get the shot because when I moved to grab my camera it would be gone.
I’m on the fence with this one. On my face I did not notice any difference (I used it on my face and neck). On my neck it appears to have made a small difference. I have been using it for about a month so maybe I need a little longer to see optimum results.
