Feed Your Hair with From the Lab Hair Mask No. 718

From the Lab

Ever since I was a young girl one of my best physical features has always been my hair. When I was younger my hair was so thick, full and lush that my hair dresser dubbed it a “lion’s mane”. I wish my hair was still as beautiful. It’s still thick, but not as lush and full as it used to be.

There are plenty of products on the market to help you to get back a wee bit of youth that is lost from your face and skin. There are plenty of lotions, creams and serums for wrinkles and fine lines, as well as products to brighten your skin and make it look for refreshed. Sadly there are not too many products that help slow down the signs of aging in your hair. After all, your hair gets effected by your age too. My hair is a perfect example of that. It’s not as lovely as it used to be and I’m sure age has a lot to do with that.

I love doing reviews of beauty products. It’s a great way to learn about product (and try them out) that I might not otherwise know about.

There is a company called From the Lab that offers consumers a unique monthly subscription program.

From the Lab works with the best cosmetic labs in the world to create the most advanced and high-end skin care, hair care and color cosmetic products. Up to 18-months before these products hit retail, members receive full-sized samples of one, two or three products the first week of every month, and can continue buying the products they love through the online store.

I think that is a pretty cool idea. You never know when they will create a “must have” product. Plus you’ll be one of the first people to try it out before it becomes available to the general market.

From the Lab sent me one of their newest creations called Hair Mask No. 718. I guess they don’t give it a formal name until they know if they are going to mass product it or not.

From the Lab Hair Mask No 718

Here is what I know about the product.

From the Lab’s Hair Mask No. 718 contains stem cells from the rare Uttwiler Spatlauber apple, never before used in the USA and known for its longevity and ability to prevent hair’s signs of aging. The Hair Mask No. 718 also contains a unique blend of Argan, Avocado, Jojoba, and Brazil Nut Oil. These ingredients have all stood on their own, but combining them together creates something special for your hair – a moisture and softness that surpasses any other hair treatment! You’d only feed your body the best nutrients possible, so why not do the same for your hair?

I have never heard of Uttwiler Spatlauber before. I don’t even know how to pronounce it.

I did Google it and have read many positive things about it’s ability to help provent the signs of aging. I also read one article that said it was shown the hair kept in a solution of Uttwiler Spatlauber continued to grow while hair in a normal solution (not sure what it was composed of) died after 14. days. I think that is interesting.

I gave Hair Mask No. 718 a try.

The product is easy to apply. I have long, thick hair so I used a bit more then recommended. I did worry that too much might leave my hair looking or feeling greasy but that is not the case at all. It went on easily for me.

I waited 15 minutes (as recommended) for the product to penetrate my hair. Then I went in the shower and shampooed and conditioned as usual.

The product rinsed out well. I was relieved because I didn’t want any residue left over that might make my hair appear dirty.

Washing Hair

I normally let my hair dry naturally unless I am going out. The mask helped my hair to dry smoothly and with a much less frizzy appearance. My hair tends to frizz when I let it dry naturally. That is why I sometimes take a brush and a hair dryer to it after it’s almost dry to smooth it out a bit. The Hair Mask no. 718 made my hair much less frizzy looking. I was able to leave it “as is” without blow drying it to look smoother.

When I did use the hair dryer after using the mask my hair looked much smoother. My hair also felt really soft. Even my husband commented on how soft my hair felt (he loves to run his fingers through my hair :-)).

I honestly can’t tell you if this product helps protect your hair from the signs of aging. What I can tell you is that my hair looks good and feels great. It also looks and smells clean. The mask doesn’t leave your hair looking greasy or smelling icky.

Two thumbs up for Hair Mask No. 718! I like it and would probably purchase it again once my tube has run out.
