Share your #Softside with Downy & $100 gift card giveaway (ends 10/28/13)

Wouldn’t it be nice if the harsh things in life could be made to be a wee bit softer? Are there things in your life (people, places, events) that you wish could be turned into something that would give you the “warm fuzzies”?

Downy has a campaign going on where they want to help bring out the Soft Side out of the little things in life. Take for example the morning alarm clock. Ugh! That is the worst. My kids both go to high school and their bus comes around 6:45. My husband and I have to get up to make sure they are up, ready and out the door in time (if you know my kids you’d know that they need to be pushed along or they’d miss the bus or forget to eat or pack a lunch). My husband usually sets the alarm for 5:45 AM. Not that is matters much. We have to sleep in the living room on a sofa bed. The kids normally wake us up anyway going back and forth to the kitchen.

Downy found a way to soften up the dreaded alarm clock.

If ONLY it was really like this. LOL!

That got me thinking about other things I would love to see Downy bring out the Soft Side in. I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be easy, but it sure would be nice if these things would be a bit more “softer” and ‘gentler”. 🙂

Raising teenagers – need I say more? Oh how I miss the days of cuddling under a fuzzy blanket with my kids, reading books and tickle fights. I miss playing dolls, dress up and race cars with my kids. Somewhere along the way dolls were replaced with boys, dress up was replaced with brand name ($$$$) outfits and race cars were replaced with REAL cars.

Speaking of clothing and getting dressed up, check out how Downy brought out the Soft Side of high heel shoes. I won’t even wear heels. They are so uncomfortable. However I would wear shoes like the one pictures below because it looks so snuggly soft.

Another thing I wish Down could soften for me is cleaning. I hate cleaning. It’s the one thing in my life that I dread day after day. I know some people are totally into it, not me. If I could hire a cleaning service I would.

Having five cats and a dog means hair, hair, HAIR! I have to constantly keep on top of it. If not our home will be consumed by hair and pet dander. Toss in two lazy, messy teenagers and you can see why I dread cleaning.

Getting my house cleaned from top to bottom is a lot of work (I’m very “nit picky”). However once the place is cleaned I love to sit back, relax and enjoy it. Knowing your home is totally clean, and fresh smelling is a great feeling. It puts me at ease and makes me happy. I even love to make my home smell good with seasonal scents, flowers and/or bake/cook something that smells wonderful. This time of year I love fall scents. Kind of like how Downy makes your clothes, sheets and towels smell irresistible.

When I am done cleaning I LOVE to snuggle up with a soft blanket, a good book (or movie) and a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy the clean, freshness of my home. That is until a cat barfs up a hairball or my kids come home and toss their backpacks and all of it’s contents across my crumb and spill free dining room table. LOL!

What would you like to see Downy “soften” for you? A root canal (I just had one)? An important job interview? A home improvement task? Whatever it is Downy would love to hear about it. You can comment in the comment box in the photo (below) or visit the Downy Facebook page and share your thoughts there.
