I love movies in case you haven’t noticed that already (I do a lot of reviews). I tend to watch movies more than sitcoms on TV. I actually only like a few sitcoms. When they are not on I tend to watch the movie channels or channels like HGTV and DIY Network.
Can you imagine a film that stared over 50 of the biggest names in Hollywood? There is such a film! It features celebrities like Mickey Rooney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Sean Connery, Angelina Jolie and Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson?
OK… not the REAL Michael Jackson (obviously), rather a Michael Jackson impersonator. In fact all the celebrities in the film are celebrity impersonators.
The film is called Bamboo Shark. I am curious to know who they came up with that title.
Bamboo Shark is a hilarious comedy about several college students who drop out of college to make a movie and quickly realize no one will take them seriously without a big name star. So they decide to fool everyone by using celebrity impersonators.
To complicate this, the Mafia, Hollywood, and an angry bus driver are on a quest to find Bamboo Shark and shut this movie down in one of the biggest screwball comedies ever.
Bamboo Shark stars Academy Award winner Mickey Rooney. It also features Johnny “Roastbeef” Williams (of Goodfellas fame) and Amanda Kimmel from the television show Survivor, and over 50 celebrity impersonators.
Check out the trailer. Some of the impersonators are really impressive.
The film is not 100% completed yet. Sadly they need another $94,000 to complete post-production including FX (special effects) shots, sound design and color correction.
The makers of the film are hoping the raise the funds via KickStarter. If they raise more than the amount they need they are going to add even more impersonators to the film. They supposedly have a great Bruce Willis look alike and a killer Jason Statham impersonator.
If you donate to the completion of the film you will receive some cool “perks”. Depending on the amount donated you can receive such things as an autograph, t-shirt, copy of the film, get listed in the credits and have a 30 second video made personally for you by “Sylvester Stallone” (the look alike of course).
If you would want to learn more about the film check out their KickStarter page – Bamboo Shark.
What do you think of the film? Does it look funny? Do you think some of the impersonators are really close to the real celebrity?
