I am grateful that no one in my family has food allergies. I can’t imagine how hard it is to have to find products that are free of the allergens.
I know people who are sensitive to Gluten and have to search high and low for products that are Gluten free. I am happy to see more and more products are available on the market, but it still must be very hard to find Gluten free products.
One allergy that has always made me nervous is peanut allergies. When my kids were younger and I had to bring in goodies for class parties I always worried about one of the classmates having a peanut allergy. I always tried to make sure to bring in products that were nut-free but even if they are nut-free it doesn’t mean it wasn’t made on machines that also processed nut products. Thankfully only once one of my son’s classmates had a peanut allergy. To stay safe I would stick to fruits and veggies rather than cake, candy and cookies. I didn’t want to take any chances.
One of my favorite things about the holidays is the candy and cookies. I feel bad that many people can’t enjoy a piece of holiday chocolate because of a nut allergy.
Thankfully there are companies like Vermont Nut Free Chocolates. Their delicious chocolates are handmade, gourmet quality candies, and provide children and adults with peanut and tree nut allergies a way to safely enjoy an otherwise off-limit holiday treats.
I thought that nut free chocolate might taste kind of “blah” and tasteless, but I was very wrong. Unless you are looking for chocolates chuck full of nuts, the taste is not that different. It tastes exactly like gourmet quality chocolate. There is no way someone not knowing these chocolates were nut free could try a piece and say “These are nut free chocolates”. Being nut free does not change the taste.
The fact that these chocolates are handmade is what makes them stand out. They don’t taste like “mass produced” chocolates like the kind you find at the grocery store check out aisle.
The company sent me some of their holiday chocolates to review. I received some holiday shaped chocolate lollipops, some chocolate miniatures, candy coated chocolates (in a cute ornament box that is currently hanging on our tree) and even hot cocoa. I love it that people with nut allergies can now enjoy hot cocoa too. My family has been enjoying the hot cocoa. It’s very “chocolate-y” and rich. It’s great as is, with a handful of marshmallows and even a candy cane for a minty hot cocoa.
My kids tried the chocolates. They loved them. They couldn’t tell that they were “different” other than the fact that they are very rich and creamy – and yummy!
Their holiday chocolates make great stocking stuffers.
Now you can offer all of your holiday guests scrumptious chocolates without having to stress about any nut allergies someone might have. Even better, you can serve these chocolates at a classroom party without any worries too, especially if you have a nut free classroom or school.
Vermont Nut Free Chocolates range in price fro $1.20 up to $65.95 so there are products to fit any budget. They also carry non-chocolate items like Jelly Beans (great for the upcoming Easter holiday), fruit bark, trail mix and granola bars. All of which are nut free as well.
All of the products on their site can be ordered online and they ship anywhere around the world. That means you can purchase some for a gift and mail them directly to the recipient. Vermont Nut Free Chocolates are also sold in select stores in both the US and Canada.
If you would like to check out their available products or learn more about the company visit www.VermontNutFree.com. You can also check the out on Facebook, Twitter and even Pinterest. Their social media links can be found at the bottom of their website.
Be sure to check the site year round for new seasonal and holiday designs. They have Valentines Day designs in case you are looking for something special to give to a loved one.
Have you ever tired Vermont Nut Free products before?
Do you or anyone you know have a nut allergy? Do you find it difficult to find yummy treats like chocolates because of it?
