Recently we had to change dentists. We were going to one dentist who finally decided to retire. I don’t know how old he was but my husband had been a patient of his since he was 9 years old – and he’ll be 46 this year.
Our former dentist was fine. He was a nice old man but lately we’re questioning how well he took care of our teeth. We recently switched to another dentist. Actually he was given all the records of our former dentist so we were encouraged to go to him.
Our new dentist is great. I am confident in his abilities. My only issue is that between me and my husband we’ve had several cavities, one root canal and a tooth that needs to be replaced with a crown. How is it that we visited our former dentist twice a year for a cleaning and check up and suddenly we have all these cavities? I have a feeling our former dentist wasn’t really taking good care of our teeth in his final year.
Next week I go for my fourth filling after enduring a root canal too. Ugh! Never again!
I DO take care of my teeth. I brush every day and I make a conscious effort to brush twice a day. I also floss every day, sometimes more than once. Why I had so many cavities I’ll never know.
I’ve vowed to take better care of my teeth and be even more diligent about brushing twice a day. I also replaced my old battery operated toothbrush with a new Oral-B Sweep Triaction 1000 power toothbrush. It certainly has a “high tech” name.
The Oral-B Sweep Triaction 1000 power toothbrush is charged from a power base that needs to be plugged into a wall outlet. In the past my other toothbrushes were powered by batteries. The good thing about having to plug in the toothbrush to charge it is that is saves on batteries. The downside is that I have to remember to charge it. Once I neglected to charge it and it ran out of the charge while I was brushing my teeth.
When the toothbrush is fully charged it will last up to seven days with regular use.
The Oral-B Sweep Triaction 1000 power toothbrush remove up to 100% more plaque than a manual toothbrush. You can really feel the difference. I notice a difference even comparing it to my battery operated toothbrush. I never use manual toothbrushes except for when I travel (I use a disposable toothbrush).
This toothbrush is more streamlined and smaller than other battery operated toothbrushes I have used. I guess it’s because there is no need for a battery compartment since this toothbrush charges electronically. I find that it’s also slimmer than other toothbrushes I have used.
Here are some facts about the Oral-B Sweep Triaction 1000 power toothbrush.
Angled power tip cleans effectively in hard-to-reach areas.
Wide sweeping angle of motion allows Deep Sweep to cover more surface area than a regular manual toothbrush.
Provides 20,000 pulsations and 8,800 sweeps for a total of 28,800 movements per minute for a better clean vs. Sonicare™ Essence™.
Familiar shaped brush head coupled with traditional stationary bristles make for an easy transition to from a manual to a power brush.
Indicator® bristles remind user to replace brush head every 3 months, or once bristles have faded halfway.
Innovative triple zone motion sweeps in between teeth to remove up to 100% more plaque vs. a regular manual toothbrush, helping to prevent and reverse gingivitis.
I have been using this toothbrush for a few weeks now and there is a noticeable difference in how clean my teeth feel. Dare I say they feel like I’ve had a dentist clean them. You know how wonderful your teeth feel after they have been professionally cleaned at the dentist office? That is how my teeth feel everyday since I’ve been using the Oral-B Sweep Triaction 1000 power toothbrush.
One of my favorite features about this toothbrush is that it helps to ensure that you brush your teeth for the recommended two minutes (30 seconds each side – top and bottom).
Start with one side of your mouth (I usually start on the bottom right side). Brush that side like you normally would. Thirty seconds into your brushing routine the toothbrush will pulse differently indicating it’s time to move to another side. My normal routine is to brush from the bottom right to the bottom left, then to the top right and finishing off with the top left. After two minutes the brush pulses a different way letting you know that you’ve completed the full two minutes.
Another great feature about this toothbrush is that there are different brush heads available to suit your preferences. Personally I am happy with the one that comes with the toothbrush but there are other replacement heads available if you prefer a different type.
I have used other brands of powered toothbrushes but I have to say by far this is my most favorite. I have no complaints or issues with it whatsoever. I am thrilled with it and I am loving how well my teeth feel with every use. I am looking forward to a clean bill of health with my next dentist check up.
The Oral-B Sweep Triaction 1000 power toothbrush is available at most department, retail and specialty stores for a suggested retail price of $64.99. Replacement heads vary in price.

This looks like a really nice toothbrush. My son has an Oral-B toothbrush but a different model. I will have to see if they brush heads for his have the Indicator bristles remind him to replace brush head. That is so cool!
