I have always been a fan of tea. I have been drinking hot and iced tea ever since I was a young girl. My mom and grandparents were from the United Kingdom and we had “tea time” pretty much every day.
Tea is something that I enjoy year round. Hot tea is great any time. Usually in the warmer months I prefer iced tea. Even on a hot summer day I’ll grab a cup of hot tea and sit on our balcony, put my feet up and relax. I find tea very relaxing and comforting.
I’m always happy to try new types of teas. There are so many different varieties and flavors available. Just thinking about it can make your head spin.
My daughter wants to try chocolate flavored tea. She heard about it and is on a quest to find it.
I recently had the opportunity to try a tea called Zhena’s Slim Me Tea, specifically the Extra Strength Slim Me.
ZHENA’s Tea is a brand of organic teas that have been infused with herbs and is 100% natural. ZHENA’s Teas have been featured on Oprah, Rachel Ray, Good Morning America and Dr. Oz.
Tea, as you might know, already has plenty of health benefits. It’s also better for you than sugary drinks like soda. Did you know that if you replace your daily soda intake with a healthier option, like tea, you can lose weight because you’ll be eliminating all those empty sugary calories from your diet.
Zhena’s tea is a little bit different than regular tea. I can be enjoyed the same way but Zhena teas have a little more to them. Zhena teas help to increase your metabolism while also suppressing appetite. The teas contain 10 natural herbs that are known to help aid in weight loss including Green Tea Extract, African Mango Seed, Raspberry Ketone and Garcinia Cambogia Fruit.
The teas also help promote healthy digestion. It can even give you energy without the usual “jitters” people often experience with products that contain caffeine.
Zhena’s Tea sent me four of their tea flavors – Cranberry Ginger, Peach Vanilla, Superfruit Mixed Berry and Raspberry Mint. Each tin contains 30 individual tea bags.
As far as taste goes I enjoyed all four flavors. The Cranberry Ginger and Raspberry Mint were my favorite flavors. You can add anything you like to them (honey, lemon, sugar…) or enjoy them “as is” (I prefer mine plain – as is).
I tried them all hot and cold. I prefer them all as hot tea. They were fine as cold iced teas. I just preferred them hot. Maybe it’s because we’ve had a bitter winter and the hot tea helps to warm me up. Maybe in the hotter months I’ll prefer the cold iced teas.
The teas did not help suppress my appetite. I had hoped that they would be I didn’t notice any difference. In all fairness I don’t have a normal digestive system so I don’t know if that plays a factor in this or not. I don’t have a stomach. Everything I eat and drink goes directly into my intestines for digestion. It doesn’t go into a stomach. This is why I am ALWAYS hungry – because everything I eat and drink starts to digest immediately. There is noting to fill up. Not even a pouch (I had one at one point but it’s gone now).
I didn’t want to let my teens use the tea without consulting a doctor first. I know they are made with natural ingredients but I want to clear it with the pediatrician to see if the ingredients are OK for my kids. My husband also doesn’t like tea so I was the only person who could try them out and see how effective they were in helping suppress my appetite. That part didn’t work for me but tat doesn’t mean it won’t work for someone else with a normal digestion system.
I do think that the teas helped to give me a boost in energy. That was the first thing that I noticed about the teas. They do give me a bit of a boost to help me get through the day, especially in the mid-to-late afternoon when I am at my “foggiest” and unable to concentrate and get work done. The teas gave me a nice burst of energy, enough to last for a few hours. I didn’t “crash and burn” like people sometimes experience with caffeinated drinks or energy drinks.
Would I buy these teas again? Yes. I like the flavors and I like the energy boost. I’m just disappointed that the appetite suppressing feature didn’t work for me.
Zhena’s Teas can be found at Rite Aid stores nationwide. You can also purchase them from www.Zhenas.com. They retail for $9.99 each.
