Do you drink coconut water? Have you ever tired coconut water?
I know many people who enjoy coconut water. I’ve never tried it before. I do like coconut, but I have never enjoyed it in liquid form.
What exactly is coconut water?
Coconut water is the clear fluid that is found in the center of the coconut. Usually it’s tapped from young, green coconuts.
Coconut water directly from the coconut is…
- Low in calories
- Naturally fat free
- Chooestorol free
- Super hydrating
- Contains easily digested carbohydrates in the form of sugar and electrolytes.
- Coconut water also has more potassium than four bananas.
That is pretty impressive.
I have seen Vita Coco on the market but I’ve never tried it before. They offer pure coconut water as well as flavored coconut waters. They also have a kids line called Vita Coco Kids. Vita Coco Kids offers coconut water in kid-friendly flavors.
Currently Vita Coco Kids is offering flavors inspired by the new film, RIO 2. The RIO 2 flavors are Blu-Berry Beach and Gabi’s Pink Lemonade.
I received both flavors to review with my kids.
I really enjoyed Blu-Berry Beach. Initially I wasn’t really sure how I felt about the flavor but by the time I finished half the juice box I really started to enjoy it. The flavor was a hit with both of my kids too. It really does have a blueberry taste to it. My family happens to love blueberries so it’s no wonderful my kids enjoyed it too.
Gabi’s Pink Lemonade was not that appealing to me. There was something about it that I didn’t like. I’m not even sure I would liken it to pink lemonade.
My son liked this flavor and my daughter was “on the fence” about it for a while. She didn’t like it the first time she tried it but then she tired it again and said that it wasn’t so bad after all.
Both are kid friendly flavors. I just happened to find the blueberry flavor (Blu-Berry Beach) more to my liking. I also found it to be very refreshing, especially when you drink it cold. I felt like it quenched my thirst.
Vita Coco Kids comes in boxes with attached straws. They are ideal for on-the-go or to toss inside a lunch box.
