Technology truly amazes me these days. Growing up it was a big deal to have cable TV, a VCR and a Walkman. These days the world is at your fingertips, you can stream movies through you TV almost the same day it’s released in theaters and you can sent a photo to relatives around the world instantly with the touch of a button.
I’m all for high tech gadgets, especially if they are fun to use and/or help make life a bit easier. I enjoy recieving fun techie products to review.
A few weeks ago I was sent a couple of product from Iogear to review which I feel would be very useful and handy in most households.
TuneTap Wireless Audio Receiver With just a tap of your phone, play your favorite music and movie audio wirelessly from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet on your home A/V receiver or stereo. You now have the freedom to listen to your favorite music, online radio stations or favorite videos on your home sound system wirelessly.
I had to have my husband set this up for me. I can be technologically challenged at times and I wasn’t about to mess with all the plugs and wires behind our entertainment center.
Whatever he did with this tiny piece of equipment I am able to listen to music when I am working at my desk over some of our home entertainment speakers. Not all of the speakers, but some of them (my husband thinks it’s the way he has them wired why some are not working with the audio receiver).
I do have a Bluetooth enabled speaker on my desk, but the sound quality is not that great. Being able to listen to my music on multiple speakers in my living room is really nice, especially when it comes to cleaning (I love to listen to music when I clean). It will be fun to stream holiday music during the holiday season. I’m looking forward to that.
MediaShair Hub– Perfect for long family road trips, it solves the small storage issues of smartphones and tablets. Fitting easily into a purse or bag, you can access movies, photos and large documents wirelessly. The device can even help charge mobile electronics, share content with other users and transform hard-lined web connection into a secure WiFi network.
This is a must have for families – especially ones that are always on the go-go-go.
The MediaShair Hub allows you to transfer files such as movies and music so you’ll have access to it when you are on the go. It’s Bluetooth endabled so you do not need an internet connection to use the device. This is especially handy if you are flying on a plane. You can transfer movies and music to the hub and watch them on your smartphone or tablet on the plane with no need for an internet connection.
If you family is traveling this summer and you’d like to keep the kids occupied in the car, download some of their favorite movies on the hub and take them with you.
You can even share photos with the MediaShair Hub (we haven’t tried that yet).
You will need an SD card and/or USB flashdrive to use the device. That shouldn’t be a problem. Most people have these lying around anyway, or they they inexpensive and you can pick them up just about anywhere.
The MediaShair Hub also charges your smartphone and other devices, so you can stream and charge at the same time. As someone who has experienced a dead phone when traveling having a backup charging device is a must have.
If you would like more information about either of these wonderful products visit Iogear at www.Iogear.com. There is a store locator on the site to help you find a retailer near you that sells either (or both) of these devices.
You can also check out Iogear on Facebook and Twitter.
