When I was a young girl I had a head of hair so thick that my hair dresser referred to it as a “lion’s mane”. I had A LOT of hair. It was beautiful hair too. Sadly time, age and an insane amount of styling, perming, coloring and products have made my hair look pretty bad. The gray, silvery and white hairs popping up all over doesn’t help either.
Back when my hair was lush and beautiful I had always dreamed of having a professional make over and having someone style my hair to make me look glamorous. The one person I always had in mind was famed hair stylist José Eber. I had seen him on television many times in my youth and I always wanted him to style my hair. The man knows hair care.
José Eber is still around and he’s still very involved in the hair care industry. He recently released a new line of hair care products too which are available at HSN.com.
I don’t like to “cut and paste” information about products but sometimes I feel there is a need to so as not to miss any important information.
Here is more information about the products.
The NEW José Eber Beauté Cheveux hair care line has a unique, neo-molecular delivery system which allows micro-molecules to penetrate the root sheath and into the cuticle for moisture-rich and environmental damage blocking ingredients to delve deeper into the follicle for long-lasting results.
The unique foam-based formula is dispensed via aerosol cans, which contain the most advance dispensing technology, preventing oxidation and insuring that the precise amount of product is distributed without waste. The proprietary blend of ingredients includes:
Laminaria digitata
Extracts from brown seaweed, ogliosaccharides, help to increase hair’s tensile strength and resilience. Its unique delivery system is able to drive nutrients deep into each strand. Studies of this material have shown its anti-microbial activity helps to keep the scalp healthy which, in turn, keeps hair healthy at the root. Hair returns to its youthful radiance.
- Protects hair from smog, chemicals and free radical damage
- Moisturizes while helping reduce serum production
- Remains on the hair even after rinsing to provide continual effects
Chorella vulgaris
This micro-molecule is extracted from micro algae to infuse hair with substantive moisture. It functions by delivering immediate relief to help create a luxurious feel. Its long term effects create hair that is youthfully enriched and protected.
- Mimics absorption into skin by penetrating into hair
- Holds moisture in hair
- Maintains body and a luxurious feel
Opuntia ficus-indica
Extracted from the prickly flat paddle cacti of Napol, this ingredient is enriched with low molecular weight peptides, carbohydrates and other bound minerals to infuse hair with supple strength and fortitude. When hair becomes ravaged by too much exposure to chemicals, over-styling, the environment or even natural aging, this extract works to smooth any frayed cuticles.
- Replenishes lost moisture and helps hair to retain rich hydration
- Repels toxins to create a renewed environment
- Soothes away damage
Silene uniflora
Extracted from the waters of the French Atlantic, this ingredient flourishes even with excessive UV exposure and high salt content, preserving its own natural beauty with powerful antioxidants that repel attacking free radicals.
- Protects the hair from environmental exposure and toxins
- Helps repair healthy cell visibility for a healthier scalp
- Demonstrated ability to fight free radical damage
- Softens and smoothes hands

I was sent the José Eber Beauté Cheveux “The Shampoo” to review.
The shampoo is in the form of a mousse. It’s very rich, thick and creamy. It’s hard to believe that it’s a shampoo. It seemed more like cream you’d find on top of a gourmet cupcake. 🙂
I wasn’t sure how much to use. I sprayed a few handfuls and applied it to my hair.
The shampoo didn’t lather up as much as other shampoos I use. I know that the ingredient that makes things lather is not really good for you (sodium lauryl sulfate or ammonium lauryl sulfate). I looked at the ingredients in the shampoo and didn’t see either of these mentioned, so that might be why it didn’t later that much.
The shampoo rinse off pretty well.
I had to follow it with a conditioner. There would have been no way I could have combed my hair without it. Maybe it would be OK for people with thin hair, but if you have thick, course and long hair like me you’ll most likely require a conditioner after using this shampoo. There is a conditioner available that goes with this shampoo, but I only received the shampoo to review. I had to use my own conditioner.
So far I haven’t noticed any difference in the quality of my hair. It feels clean and its soft when it’s dry. That is fine with me.
I’m “on the fence” with this shampoo. Maybe combined with the conditioner it might make a difference. I’m not sure. The shampoo is nice. Being in mousse form is cool. It washes and rinses well. It is over $20 when you factor in shipping, but then again I can easily spend that on a hair care product I purchase from the salon.
Honestly I think this might be better suited for people with regular or thin hair, so for people very thick and course hair like me.
The shampoo retails for $17.50 on HSN.com. You can find other José Eber products on his HSN product page.

I have never heard of these products! I’ve been known to spend a pretty penny on beauty products; this might be something for me to try.
