Are you looking for unique and delicious snacks? Are you bored with your usual cookies and chips?
When it comes to snack food would you think about enjoying a waffle as a snack treat? Most people wouldn’t. Waffles can be turned into a dessert if you add some ice cream, fresh fruit and whipped cream. Mmm… I love waffles and ice cream.
A San Francisco based baker called Suite Foods offers consumer made to order Liège waffles. They are large, individually wrapped waffles that you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. Toss one in your lunch tote for work, enjoy one as a late night snack – anytime you want to enjoy a sweet, delicious waffle.
Suite Foods Liège waffles are all natural too.
I received a couple of Suite Foods’ Liège waffles to try out – one plain and one with chocolate drizzle. They were both delish! My daughter suggested that we warm one in the microwave for a few seconds. The waffle was really good warmed. You could eat it “as is” but I sprinkled a little cinnamon sugar on top.
We enjoyed the chocolate drizzle one “as is” but if I had another one I would have tried it with a scoop of ice cream on top. 🙂
Here is some more information about Suite Foods in case you have not heard of them before.
Featuring authentic and delicious, made-to-order Liège waffles and Sablé cookies in a variety of flavors, Suite Foods specializes in handcrafting European delicacies for sophisticated American palates. Started in 2010, Suite Foods has perfected and sold Liège waffles and Sablé cookies out of its San Francisco bakery, as well as through retail partners like Whole Foods and Peet’s Coffee & Tea throughout California.
“Since we opened, there has been increasing demand for our waffles and cookies outside of the San Francisco Bay Area,” said Suite Foods owner Sivan Wilensky. “Now through our web site, we are pleased to offer our most popular items made fresh in our bakery and delivered to your front door.”
Famous in Belgium for centuries, the Liège waffle needs no syrup or fork thanks to the sweet, flavorful dough, making this treat the perfect hand-held snack for anytime, day or night. Made from scratch using all natural ingredients like organic flour, free-range eggs, and crunchy pearl sugar, the Liége waffle is hand-shaped and pressed into cast-iron waffle griddles. The pearl sugar adds sweetness and crunch to complement the warm, chewy waffle as it naturally caramelizes and coats the waffle in a sweet glaze. Available online in the Traditional and Chocolate Drizzle flavors, Suite Foods Liége waffles retail for $30.00 for a package of 12.
Suite Foods also offers amazing cookies available in Salted Cacao Nib and Lemon Rosemary flavors. I had the opportunity to sample both flavors. They were both incredibly delicious. I would have to say the Salted Cacao Nib was my favorite.
The cookies were individually wrapped with two cookies in each package. That is great for portion control. If they came in a box I know I would eat more than two.
These cookies would be wonderful to serve along side tea or as a dessert. They are not your ordinary cookies.
Suite Foods offers Sablé cookies in Salted Cacao Nib and Lemon Rosemary flavors. A variety of shortbread originating in the Normandy region of France, Sablé cookies feature a delicate, crumbly texture providing a unique and delicious gourmet indulgence. Rich in antioxidants and high in fiber, the Salted Cacao Nib Sablé features chocolate in its purest form, roasted, unprocessed and mixed with coarse sea salt and ground vanilla bean to delight the taste buds. Also made with all-natural ingredients including organic flour and free-range eggs, the refreshing Lemon Zest Rosemary Sablé is made with local rosemary cut fresh for each batch. Suite Foods Sablé cookies are available online in packages of 18 count for $24.00.

I have never heard of this brand until now. They do look absolutely delicious! I agree that a scoop of ice cream on the waffle cookie would be great. These would make a great gift.
