Has this ever happened to you – you are stranded at the airport or on the side of the road when you car breaks down only to find that your cellphone is out of power? It happens. It’s happened to me before.
Once I was taking a “red eye” flight home from the West coast and I needed to find the car service driver that I hired to take me home. I didn’t see him where he was supposed to meet me. I was going to call the service to find out where he was but my phone was dead! Even worse I didn’t have the charging plug with me. I had no way to charge my phone.
It was the middle of the night and I didn’t have change. There was no place to get change either since I already existed the airport. I was stuck.
I had to call my husband collect from a payphone. He in turn had to call the car service to find out where he was. Then I had to call my husband collect again to find out what was going on with my pick up. It was a mess!
From that day on I made sure to carry my charging plug with me whenever I traveled.
I’ve noticed that finding a place to charge a phone at the airport is easier said than done. Ever time I go to the airport all the charging stations and wall outlets are being occupied by other people who are charging and using their smartphones or other devices. It’s for this very reason that having a portable charging device is a must have.
One great portable charging option is the myCharge Transit 2600. This tiny power house gives you two different ways to charge the device – built in wall prongs and a car adapter. This allows you to charge up the myCharge Transit XT where ever you are – in the car, at the airport, at a hotel or at home. I really like that feature. Sometimes it’s not easy to find an empty wall socket or when you are driving you need to be able to recharge from your car.

Oh, this would be great for us. My daughter and I drive to various anime conventions around the US, where she sells her art and books. Unfortunately, the Artists’ Alley area doesn’t always have electricity available for the artists (and those that do typically charge quite a bit more to be able to use it – not the convention, but the convention center) and it’s just not worth paying for it. However, since both Fawn and I have iPhones, and not only do we do things like text and check e-mail there, she uses her phone to search for references for commission art she gets at the convention, so having her phone charged is especially important. I love that this has both the car and standard plug plug-ins built right in.

My husband lives in Iraq and we have set schedules where we can try to Skype on my phone. Skype sucks my battery down big time. This summer on the way to visit my family, our charger cord for the car just decided to stop working. Of course the phone had no battery left. We were driving for quite a while without a functioning phone. I never want to do that again. If there had been an emergency we would have been stuck in a rural area in intense heat. Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!

I had taken my kids to the zoo in the middle of the summer. When I tried to start my car, it wouldn’t start. My phone battery was on 10%. I was able to figure out why the car wasn’t starting but if I hadn’t been smart-thinking, I would have been stuck with two kids in the heat.
