I love going out to eat at very fancy restaurants. My husband and I don’t get to do it often, but when we do I relish each and every moment.
I love how gourmet restaurants present their meals in such a beautiful manner. Sometimes they look so nice that you don’t want to cut into them and mess it up.
After indulging in a gourmet meal it seems only fitting to enjoy a gourmet dessert. My husband almost always goes for any kind of cake that is available on the menu, most especially if it’s chocolate. As for me, I tend to go for the “lighter” desserts. After a scrumptious meal the last thing I want is a heavy dessert weighing it down. I tend to opt for something light like a bowl of gelato or sorbetto (sorbet). Gelato is an Italian ice cream that is not as airy as traditional ice cream and is typically served a bit thawed, not frozen. Sorbetto (sorbet) is flavored ice water that has an ice cream like consistency.
I tend to go for the sorbets because I find them easier on a full stomach.
I love desserts at fancy, gourmet restaurants because usually the restaurant has unique flavors that cannot be found elsewhere.
Imagine enjoying flavors such as Bourbon Caramel Chocolate, Pumpkin Sea Salt Caramel, White Peach Sangria, Mandarin Pineapple or Bartlett Pear Hibiscus. Mmm…. don’t they sound dreamy?
Guess what? You don’t have to go spend a small fortune at a fancy restaurant to enjoy these mouth watering flavors. All you need to do is visit your local grocer’s freezer.
The flavors I mentioned are just a few of the available flavors from a company called Ciao Bella. “Ciao” in Italian means “Hello” and Bella in Italian means “Beautiful” so I can only assume the company is “Hello, Beautiful”. 🙂
Ciao Bella was founded in the Little Italy section of New York City. The company puts much thought into each and every ingredient. They want your experience with Ciao Bella gelatos and sorbettos to be an adventure. They want consumers to enjoy each and every mouthful. That is why they use on the best ingredients in all of their products.
I’ve tried a few Ciao Bella gelatos and sorbettos. Currently my family and I are enjoying Blackberry Cabernet and Madagascar Vanilla. We’ve also tried Sicilian Limone and Caffe Macchiato.
Caffe Macchiato is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I love coffee so it’s only natural that I would love this flavor.
The Sicilian Limone will make your lips pucker up. It’s very sour – but in a good way. If you like sour candies like Lemonheads you’ll love this flavor.
I find the Madagascar Vanilla to be very rich and creamy. It’s pure vanilla. You can even see the little specs of vanilla pieces in each spoonful.
I would have to say I was most surprised by the Blackberry Cabernet. It tastes EXACTLY like freshly picked blackberries. It’s as someone picked them fresh and frozen them immediately. It’s so fresh tasting that it tastes like it could be homemade.
I was surprised that the Blackberry Cabernet almost tasted like frozen wine in a way. Even my daughter asked me if that is what wine tasted like. I told her “no” because I don’t want her to think she can start sampling wine (she’s only a teenager!). But honestly, it does have a wine-like taste to it.
Ciao Bella is available at retail locations across the country. Chances are it’s available in your local grocer’s freezer. I know you can find Ciao Bella is health food stores. Not all flavors are available in all locations. Some flavors are harder to find then others.
Ciao Bella also has seasonal flavors.
If you would like more information about Ciao Bella or to find a location near you that sells this delicious brand of gelatos and sorbettos visit CiaoBellaGelato.com. You can also find the brand on social media like Facebook and Twitter.
Have you tried Ciao Bella before? What did you think about it? Do you have a favorite flavor? Feel free to share your thoughts.

I haven’t tried these. My first one would be the White Peach Sangria.
