I love my five cats. They are very much a part of our family, as well as our dog and fish. They bring so much love and joy to our lives. I love that they each have their own personalities and quirks.
Velcro (our oldest) is afraid of his own shadow and hides a lot. He will make it known – loudly – if the water in the water dish is not cold enough. He also suffers from Diabetes.
Kitty is a pretty calico. She loves to chew on odd things like tape and cardboard. She also has a thing for small stuffed animals and will drag them out of the room and around our home. She can be very chatty when she wants to be.
Padmé is very much the “mom” of the group. She goes out of her way to groom our other cats, which explains why she always gets hairballs. When she was younger she used to sit on my shoulder when I worked at my desk and sleep on my feet at night.
Anakin is is the trouble maker. He loves to annoy the girls. He will also hold entire conversations with you. He’s also a comedian. He always makes us laugh.
Bella is our baby, aka “Princess Bella”. She gets away with a bit more then the others do. She’s very lovey dovey and loves to snuggle. She also has a heart condition and severe asthma which requires a daily inhaler (and an emergency inhaler when she has asthma attacks).
I love our cats, but I don’t love the litter box. I hate the litter box!
Our home is not big enough for multiple boxes so we have one monstrous litter box that we clean out several times a day. Whenever anyone “goes” we instantly go to the litter box and clean it out. We have to or else the mess would get out of control.
When I get home from work the first thing I do is clean out the litter box and replace the litter if needed.
I pride myself on keeping our home clean and fresh smelling. Even though we have five cats we’ve been told by multiple people, including real estate agents, that you cannot tell that we have cats aside from seeing the cat tree, toys and litter box.
We live on the top floor condo which means three flights of steps outside and three flights of steps inside. That doesn’t sound like much, but it is, especially when you have to lug super heavy cat litter boxes up all those stairs. Normally I leave the litter in my car and let my husband carry it up since it’s way too heavy for little old me.
The other day we were in Target and saw the display for Fresh Step®’s new Lightweight Extreme Litter called Fresh Step® Fast Lightweight Extreme. It’s 30% lighter then other Fresh Step® litters. Fresh Step® is the litter we always use so we are very familiar with the brand.
I like the display we saw at Target. It shows regular Fresh Step® vs. Fresh Step® Fast Lightweight Extreme on a scale showing you the difference in weight.
Target had the litter on sale too AND I had a $2.00 off coupon so it was a win-win situation since we always need litter (we buy litter all the time).
Even though the litter is made to be lighter it still has the same clumping performance and odor control that we have come to expect from Fresh Step® litter. In fact it has the strongest odor control by a lightweight litter.
The same great performance at a lighter weight – that works for me!
Fresh Step® Fast Lightweight Extreme is available at Target
Have you tried the new litter yet? If so, what did you think? Feel free to share your thoughts.
I’ll share my thoughts in anohter post.
