Do you have a sweet tooth? Do you find yourself craving something sweet, sore or chocolaty from time to time? Do you enjoy trying out new things? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions then you should look into the Candy Club.
The Candy Club is a monthly subscription service that you can order month-to-month, six month or for a full year.
Each month you’ll receive 2-3 pounds of hand picked candies and treats from the companies enormous collection. You’ll never know what you’ll get so each month it will be a surprise.
You don’t just get a small sampling of candies – you get a fairly large amount which you can share with family and friends. In addition some of the candies come in an adorable clear plastic container with a removable lid that you can re-purpose. You can use them to store things in (buttons, paperclips…) or turn into a piggy bank.
I received a box from the Candy Club to review. I couldn’t wait for it to arrive.
The box the candy arrive in was big and surprisingly heavy. That is because there is 2-3 pounds of candy in every box.
Inside the box I found literature about the Candy Club and product information on the candies included in the box.
Underneath the literature I found three containers of candy, a small box of candy and surrounding everything was a couple of handfuls of taffy.
Inside the box I found the following candies.
Sweet’s Salt Water Taffy
The salt water taffy is the light blue candy pictured in front of the other candy containers.
I love salt water taffy, but the problem with it is that it often sticks to the wrapper and when you put it in your mouth it’s hard to chew. I often joked that its going to rip one of my fillings out if it get stuck on a tooth.
Sweet’s Salt Water Taffy is different. It DOESN’T stick to the wrapper and it’s not hard or sticky in your mouth. In fact it’s smooth and almost creamy.
I’m not sure what flavor I was sent. I think it might be a cotton candy flavor.
The candy is really enjoyable, especially if you like salt water taffy.
Sour Power Wild Cherry Belts
If I had to describe this candy in one would I would say SOUR! More like VERY sour – so sour that I thought my face would cave in. LOL!
My husband loves sour candies and he even though these were very sour. The funny thing is my teenagers (also fans of sour candies) didn’t think this candy was very sour at all. I even watched their faces when they tried the candy just to see the funny looks on their faces when the sour taste hit them but there was no facial reaction whatsoever.
It’s weird how me and my husband thought this candy was super sour and my kids didn’t.
Gimbal’s Sour Gourmet Jelly Beans
I love Jelly Beans, especially when I can get them in a variety of flavors because it changes the taste every time you put a random assortment in your mouth.
These are sour, but not overly sour. I’m not a big fan of sour candies and I liked these.
These are great to keep on your desk at work (or at home) and grab a few whenever you are craving something sweet (0r sour).
Unlike other brand assortments (like Jelly Bellys) I liked each of the individual flavors (I tried each flavor one by one too).
Haribo Gummi Techo Bears
I love Haribo gummies. They are my favorite gummy candies. For me, no other gummy bear comes close to a Haribo gummy bear.
These bears are done up in funky colors with a bit of a shimmery shine to them. They are pretty cool.
These gummies are also a bit sour, but not that bad. They are also very flavorful which is something I come to expect with Haribo gummies.
Butterfield’s Peach Buds
These are hard candies that have the most realistic peach flavor I have ever experienced in a candy. It tastes like a real peach! I was pleasantly surprised.
So far my family and I have been enjoying all the candies. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with the empty containers yet but I plan on re-purposing them some how. I might just refill one of them with other candies to keep on my desk.
Honestly I wish I could afford this club. I think it’s fun to get surprises in the mail, especially when you don’t know what candies will be in the box. Plus I love trying out new things. I wish I could sign up for 6 months or a year. Plus I could share the candy with family and friends who come and visit, or give them a container as a token gift.
