When it comes to my daily make up routine I tend to stick with the bare minimum. I only work a few hours outside of the home, and with young children. They like me for who I am – not for how I look.
When I’m at home I don’t wear make up. In fact, the moment I walk in the door I usually make a “bee line” straight to the bathroom to wash my face.
Just because on a day to day basis I don’t wear a lot of make up doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy getting all done up – especially for a “Date Night” with my husband, dinner with friends or a night out. When it comes to those occasions I LOVE to wear lip stick, eye shadow and make up I might not often wear.
One make up brand has intrigued me for several months called Younique. I know a few people who use their products and rave about them. I have also seen posts about the products on Instagram. Many people post photos of their eyes after using Younique’s Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+.
I was fortunate to receive some products to review from Younique, including the Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+.
Younique’s Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+ is much more than a typical mascara. It’s a 2-part system that transforms your lashes into amazingly long and lush lashes that “pop.” You can boost your lashes by a whopping 400%!
I was not blessed with long lashes. In fact, you can barely see my lashes – especially my bottom ones. My husband, my teen daughter and teen son all have beautiful eye lashes – lashes that most women only dream of having (myself included). It’s not fair that men get long lashes.
I have tried to wear fake eyelashes, but I find them incredibly uncomfortable and I can never glue them on correctly. They also end up irritating my eyes.
I have tried many different mascaras over the years. Some do a good job at adding length and volume, but sometimes you want something MORE. That is where Younique’s Moodstuck 3D Fiber Lashes+ comes in.
Using this mascara is super easy. It goes with a tube of gel with a wand as well as a tube of fibers – also with a wand.
To apply put an even layer of gel on your lashes. Quickly apply the fibers with the other want (don’t mix wands!), then re-apply the gel on top to set the fibers. You can also repeat these steps to achieve your desired look.
I was a bit hesitant at first. I thought the fiber pieces would get all over the place – especially in my eye. I was pleasantly surprised that the fibers stayed on my lashes and didn’t fall off. Maybe one or two did hear or there, but that’s nothing.
Even with just one layer of fibers made my lashes incredibly long. It looked like I was wearing fake lashes – but I wasn’t.
I LOVE how my eyes look when I use this mascara. It’s so easy to apply and it washes off with no problem. Now I see why people rave about Moodstuck on social media. This mascara, to quote teens, is “DA BOMB!” Once you try Younique’s Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+ you’ll never go back to regular mascara or fake lashes again.
Another product I was sent to review is the Younique Stiff Upper Lip Stain. I received the colors Shy, Savvy and Sultry to review. Savvy and Sultry are a little too dark for my complexion (I’m very pale), but Shy works well.
I don’t normally wear lip color, with the exception of lip gloss. I find that lipsticks dry out my lips and fade quickly. I don’t have time to reapply and I don’t like how my lips feel when I wear lipstick either.
What I love about the Stiff Upper Lip Stains is that they literally “stain” you lip. Don’t worry… it does eventually fade away, but not for a good amount of time. Unlike lipsticks you won’t need to re-apply this lip stain all day long.
I like that my lips don’t feel dry or sticky. In fact, I don’t even realize I’m wearing color. It’s liquidy when you first apply it (like a lip gloss) but eventually it absorbs into your skin (for lack of a better description) so your lips don’t feel wet – but the color still remains. Genius!
In addition to the two products I am thrilled to have in my makeup bag, I also received Younique’s Moodstruck Precision Eye Liners in the colors Perfect, Passionate and Prim.
I tend to stick with black eyeliner. I don’t know why. When I was younger I would use a variety of colors. I don’t know why I ever stopped.
As far as eyeliners go these eyeliners are great. They go on smoothly, blend very well and wash off completely. For me, that is important.
I like the colors because they are not outlandish or make you look like a clown. They simply add a subtle touch of color to your eyes.
Passionate is a light-to-medium purple color, Perfect is a dark charcoal gray color (my daughter says it’s black – it’s not black) and Prim is a goldish-copper (for lack of a better description). I mostly use the Passionate or Perfect. Personally I think Prim is better suited for holiday parties or a night out on the town.
When you have amazing mascara (Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+) and great precision eyeliner (Moonstruck Precision Eyeliner), you need some wonderful eye shadow too.
I received two pallets of Moodstruck Addiction Eye Shadow from Younique in a great assortment of colors. I received Palette One and Palette Two.
Palette One has a range from light (peachy/gold) to a dark (milk chocolate-like) brown. Palette Two has light grey colors to a dark, almost black-like color.
I’ve been using the lighter colors from Palette One mostly. Because I wear glasses I don’t really wear much eye shadow except to accent my eyes a bit. Too much eye shadow doesn’t look good on me with glasses. It makes my eyes look over done. I prefer to keep it simple/subtle.
“Brassy” and “Swanky” from Palette One are my favorite colors. They have a it of sparkle to them without looking tacky.
Lastly I received fro Younique something called Refreshed Rose Water. It comes in a cute little spray bottle. This spray acts as a toner on your skin. It adds hydration.
To use simply spray it on your clean face BEFORE you put on any makeup. Then apply your make up as you normally would. You can spritz some on after your makeup is apply to “set” your makeup if you’d like (I don’t do that – I just spray it on before I apply my makeup).
It does have a rose scent to it too which is really nice.
I like how this feels on my skin, especially after I wash my face or when I come out of the shower. My face wash sometimes makes my skin feel dry and tight. Once I spray on some of the rose water my face feels really refreshed. I liken it to splashing cold water on your face. It’s refreshing and a nice pick-me-up.
I am thrilled that I was finally able to experience Younique products. I am a new fan and future customer of the brand – most especially for the Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+.

I’m a make-up LOVER and have been hearing so much about these products lately. The eye liners come in so many great colors and the lip stains sounds really nice. Thanks for the fun review. 🙂

Wow ~ you hit the jackpot of reviews!! I have read of and entered numerous giveaways for the mascara. I never won and I hate spending money on myself for makeup. But I’m so glad to know it really works. I am really intrigued by their lip stains though. I have pale lips and need color but hate having to reapply lipstick. Could you let me know if you can wear a gloss over the stain without it coming off? I might just have to break down and get some.
