Are you a jewelry person? Do you find a need to wear jewelry every day, even just to run errands?
Growing up (back in my teenage and young adult days) I always wore jewelry – rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. They all had to coordinate with whatever it was that I was wearing. I also have three holes in each ear, so I would always change up my earrings every day too.
When I became a mom I stopped wearing much jewelry. I stopped wearing my engagement ring (a small solitaire diamond) because it scratched my daughter’s leg once when I was changing her diaper. I also stopped wearing necklaces because my kids would grab the when they were babies/toddlers and break them. I also stopped wearing dangly earrings in fear that my kids would pull them out of my ear, or one would fall off and they would swallow it.
Back then I learned to wear simple pieces of jewelry, and it has stuck with me ever since. My kids are teenagers now, but I’m still minimalist with my jewelry. It’s not that I don’t love jewelry (I DO!), I just don’t wear it as much as I used to. In addition, 90% of my jewelry is packed away in my father’s basement. We moved boxes to his basement when we had our condo on the market and never brought them back when we gave up on trying to buy a house. I have no clue what box my jewelry is in (we have A LOT of boxes in his basement).
For now I wear the few select pieces that I do have. All of them have some kind of special meaning to me which makes them even nicer to wear. I have a ring that belonged to my mom, a ring that belonged to my mother in law, my replacement wedding ring (my husband wears mine – long story) and my husband’s original wedding ring (the one we were married with).
My new favorite rings to wear are from a company called Carved Creations. They make personalized jewelry including rings, necklaces and bracelets.
I know what you are thinking – not another line of personalized jewelry. I will admit that there are plenty of companies out there that make personalized jewelry, but I have not seen any as lovely as what I found at Carved Creations. I also find the prices at Carved Creations are really nice.
I was sent a gift code to pick out something to review from the site. I chose a personalized ring with my name and my husband’s name on it as well as two stacked rings. The stacked rings are a two-piece set consisting of a personalized ring and another ring that features a birthstone. I picked up two rings – one personalized for my daughter and the other for my son.
I was super excited to get these rings. I stalked my delivery driver every day until they arrived. For personalized jewelry they shipped out considerably quick.
For safety reasons I can’t show you my actual rings. I do not want my husband or children’s names to ever be mentioned (or seen) on my blog. I’m sure you can understand.
Here is a photo of the ring with both my name and my husband’s name on it so you know I own one.
I just don’t want you to see my husband’s name. Not only that, I have chubby fingers and they sort of take away from the beautiful rings.
The ring I received with my name and my husband’s name engraved on it looks like this;
It’s much nicer in person that the photo I shared (above), which came out way too dark.
Carved Creations offers several different “couples” rings. I chose this design because I like the engraved hearts in between our names and I liked the lines that border our names.
They also offer smaller ring bands (thinner) and in 14K gold. I opted for Carved Creations PūrLuxium™ because I liked the look of it. Plus I like how sturdy it is.
Here are some facts about jewelry made out of PūrLuxium™.
I love this ring. I fits perfects and it works well with other jewelry I have (I have more silver than gold jewelry). I also adore having mine and my husband’s name on it. I keep my husband’s name on top so I see it whenever I look down at my hand. I don’t need a reminder that I love him with every fiber of my being but it’s nice to see my loved ones name as a reminder of our love whenever I look at the ring.
For my children I chose the stacked rings (also made out of PūrLuxium™). The set came with a thin band with my child’s name and their birth date engraved on it. The other ring is also a thin band with a small, round birthstone.
Mine look similar to the ones pictured above, but with my kid’s names engraved on them and their birthstones.
These are fun rings to wear. You can wear them along side the birthstone rings (all four rings at the same time – they are stackable!), just the name rings or just the birthstone rings. The birthstone rings can also be used to accessorize an outfit if you are wearing something that matches the birthstone color.
I can even wear the personalized rings with my kid’s names on them along side the ring I have with mine and my husband’s name engraved on it. They all stack together nicely.
My daughter wishes we had similar ring sizes (her fingers are not chubby like mine) because she wants the ring I have with her birthstone on it.
These are lovely rings and I have received several compliments on them. I’ve had a few people want to look at them more closely to see what was engraved on them too.
These rings can be worn and enjoyed every day. They are not overly fancy. Plus, being made out of PūrLuxium™ they are “hearty” rings that can withstand normal wear and tear.
