Growing up I always looked forward to what was in my Christmas stocking, almost as much as the wrapped presents under the Christmas tree.
Santa always filled my stocking with a lot of goodies. There was always an apple and an orange in my stocking, as well as a new box of crayons. In addition my stocking was filled to the brim with candy – lots and lots of candy.
Confections are often given as gifts during the holiday season, especially to children, teachers, co-workers and neighbors.
For each holiday the RM Palmer Company offers consumers a variety of fun candy novelties. You might not recognize the brand name (or maybe you know them just a Palmer), but you most likely would recognize some of their sweet treats when you see them. Their chocolates are usually done in holiday shapes and/or packaging.
This year the RM Palmer Company has introduced one of their largest chocolates EVER – the chocolate Mega Coin!
I’m sure most people have seen the mesh-like bags filled with gold foil wrapped chocolates. On the outside they look like a gold coin. When you peel off the foil you have a bit size piece of creamy, sweet chocolate. Now imagine one of those coins but JUMBO sized.
Candy coins have a long tradition as Christmas treats. In the past Palmer has been among the many candy makers producing chocolate doubloons or candy coins made to look like pirates’ gold.
This year, Palmer has minted a uniquely wondrous creation that will surely stand out from the typical candy coin, in flavor and especially in size.
The Mega Coin measures a whopping eight inches across and weighs one pound. You read that correctly – ONE POUND!
The coin is made to resemble the classic Kennedy half-dollar from the 1960’s, which at one time were also popular stocking stuffers. My elderly neighbor growing up used to give them to me all the time. Too bad I spent them.
Made from rich Belgian chocolate, the Mega Coin is sure to please the most discriminating chocolate fan.
I was sent some coins to review. THEY ARE HUGE! Not only that the chocolate is oh-so-good! There is enough chocolate for a whole family to enjoy one of the coins. We broke ours into pieces and keep it in a Ziploc bag. It’s nice to have bite size pieces of chocolate to pop in your mouth when you are craving something sweet and delicious.
The Mega Coins would make a fun gift for the chocolate lover in your life. Best of all they are already “wrapped.”
You might not be able to use them as stocking stuffers because I doubt they would fit in the stockings. LOL!
You can find these larger-than-life chocolate creations where ever Palmer candies are sold. You can visit the Palmer website (www.RMPalmer.com) to find a retailer near you. While you are visiting the website be sure to check out their crafts, recipes and activities section for fun holiday ideas and treats you can make. They have a recipe for a Peppermint Bark Dip that looks so good!
Be sure to check out the brand on Facebook and Pinterest too.
What do you think about the Mega Gold Coin? Do you think it would make a fun gift for someone on your holiday shopping list? Would you like to receive one as a gift? Feel free to share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
