This time of year parents and grandparents are scrambling to find awesome toys to gift to a child or grandchild.
I remember those days well. We were never ones to go crazy with the “must have” toys of the season. My kids never really asked for those types of toys (thankfully). Instead we focused on fun toys that would not only encourage their imagination, but also something they would not be bored with and tossed aside an hour after they unwrapped it.
Have you ever heard of the brand Toy State? Toy State offers a plethora of toys that are sure to offer your child/grandchild hours of fun play time.
Most of Toy State toys are geared more towards boys with brands such as Hot Wheels and CAT, but little girls also appreciate cars and trucks too. I was a “Tom Boy” growing up. Some of my favorite toys were Tonka trucks and a G.I. Joe doll.
One brand of toy carried by Toy State are Road Rippers. Road Rippers are cars and trucks that have multiple play functions including lights, sounds, music and they can even drive across the room (very quickly too I might add).
We had a Road Ripper sports/race car at the childcare facility where I used to work. The kids loved it. It was a popular toy and one of the first toys the kid would go for. Their favorite part of the car was how it could race across the room with just the push of a button. It would shoot across the room very fast until it crashed into something (usually the wall or a chair leg). If our room was bigger I bet it could go a great distance.
I was sent to review a Road Ripper to review – Road Rippers Warp Riders – Volkswagen Beetle (pictured above).
These are fairly large cars.
The Warp Rider is a little different than the one we had at work. According to the brand (Toy State);
Warp Riders has an innovative light effect when the sides and hood burst into a “fire-works -like show. These motorized cars have forward drive, realistic engine sounds, music and a crazy cool light effect.
They are pretty cool. Check out the video I made of the Warp Rider we had received to review.
Pretty cool. In hindsight I should have taken a video of it in the dark so you could see how awesome it looks when it’ lit up.
The car requires 3 AA batteries, which are included. You can get a decent amount of play time with one set of batteries. The car was played with a lot at work and I never had to replace the batteries (it was there for a few months before I moved on to another job). I’m glad the batteries are included so your child/grandchild can enjoy playing with it right out of the box. You don’t have to hunt down batteries or a screw driver.
The cars are recommended for children ages 3 and up. I would watch their hands by the back tires. When they spin they could easily snag a finger or hair.

What do you think about this toy? Does it look like a toy your child/grandchild might enjoy?
