Now available on VOD and Digital HD is the film HoneyGlue, directed by James Bird.
The film stars Adriana Mather, Zach Villa, Booboo Stewart, Christopher Heyerdahl, Jessica Tuck, and Amanda Plummer.
Morgan (Mather) is a young 20-something year old woman living with her parents and younger brother in a typical suburban neighborhood. They look like the quintessential family with a beautiful house and two children. All that’s missing is a dog.
Morgan’s world is quickly turned upside down when she learns that she only has three months left to live. She had a tumor that was removed a few years back, but part of it remained, causing her to develop a brain tumor. They have done every treatment possible. The best they can do for her is to tend to her pain and medical needs while they wait for her to die.
One the night of her birthday, Morgan heads out alone with her video camera. She enters a nightclub and starts filming random people, until someone catchers her eye. It’s hard to tell if the person in question is a male or female, but none the less, she is intrigued and goes up to the person.
His name is Jordan. He’s a gender-defying artist and writer with a “punk rock” sort of look to him.
Morgan is swept off her feet and end up making out in the parking lot.
Before Morgan leaves, Jordan steals her wallet. He was about to take her money when he was almost stung by a bee. He took that as a sign as to not steal her money. Instead he shows up at her door the next day donned in a long skirt and heavy lipstick.
Morgan’s parents are not exactly amused by her gentleman caller, but her brother, Bailey (Stewart) seems cool with Morgan’s new friend.
Morgan and Jordan end up really hitting it off. They are instantly “connected” with one another, even though they come from totally different backgrounds.
Jordan even shares an illustrated story with Morgan about a Dragon Fly and a Princess Bee that is near and dear to his heart. It’s clear to viewers that the characters in the book loosely resemble them and their relationship.
Morgan’s condition worsens and there is nothing more the doctor’s can do for her. That is when Jordan comes up with a crazy idea – they should get married.
How long will the pair have together? Will they make it to the alter? Will they be able to fill her last days with love and laughter? To find out you need to see HoneyGlue. Look for it on Video on Demand and Digital HD, such as iTunes.
The film has a run time of 107 minutes and is rated R.

I should forewarn you that you’ll need tissues to make it through this film. The whole idea of a loved one dying and there is nothing you can do for them is heartbreaking. The film also focuses on Morgan’s family and how difficult it is for them to watch their daughter slowly die.
I give a lot of credit to Adriana Mather who plays Morgan. It looks like she lost a lot of weight for the role and she even shaved her head. Talk about putting your heart and soul into your character. Movie magic also made her look very sickly.
Zach Villa is an interesting actor. He played the role of Jordan very well and looked right at home in women’s clothing and heavy make up. He has a weird Robert Patterson (Edward from the Twilight films) appeal to him.
The message of the film, in my opinion, is that love doesn’t have to make sense. You love whom ever makes you happy. Jordan is a punk rock/artsy type of person. He dresses like a girl sometimes. Morgan is a straight-laced, average girl from a well off family. They are the last two people you would think would find each other and fall in love. But they did.
This is not your typical, main stream film. It’s one of those gems that fly under the radar. If you have the opportunity to catch the film I would recommend it.
