Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK! How crazy does that sound? Wasn’t it just the first day of school?
Have you already begun your holiday shopping? Have you finished already? Or are you a “last minute” type of shopper?
I used to have all our holiday shopping done by the end of October. These days we find that we are rushing around at the last minute to get shopping done.
I shop mostly online. I can’t stand going to stores during the holidays UNLESS it’s to look at the decorations. Long lines and fighting for parking spots is not my “thing.”
When you are gearing up for the holiday season you need to stock up on some essentials. For example, tape and plenty of wrapping paper.
There is one essential that I feel is most important (especially when you have children or grandchildren) – batteries!
The last thing you want to happen is for a child to open up their holiday gift – one that requires batteries – and find out that you don’t have that size battery, or the required amount, available.
I remember as a child, opening up gifts on Christmas morning that required batteries and we never had them available (my parents never stocked up on them – they only purchased batteries as needed). Do you know how much of a let down it is for a child to get a super cool gift for the holiday and not being able to enjoy it for days – or even weeks – later because you don’t have batteries to go with it.
As a parent I vowed never to put my kids through that kind of “torture.” We always made it so our kids can enjoy their gifts the moment they open the package.
Prior to wrapping their gifts (or anyone’s gift) we would remove the twisty-ties or plastic ties that held the item/items into the package. We’d also make sure to insert brand new batteries. This way our kids could open their gifts and play with them immediately.
We also have a lot of decorations in our home, many of which require batteries. This is why we make it a point to stock up on batteries – in all shapes and sizes. You just never know what you might need and when.
I will be the first to admit that I have tried “bargain” batteries (the ones from the dollar store or inexpensive no-name brands). When it comes to batteries, you want a brand you can trust. Cheap batteries don’t last as long and are not always reliable.
When it comes to the holiday season (and beyond), Duracell is the #1 trusted battery. Even pharmacists and first responders relay on the trusted power of Duracell. It’s the battery you can trust for long-lasting, dependable power.
Did you now that Duracell batteries are 100% checked for quality assurance? They also provide up to a 10 year guarantee in storage with Duracell Power Preserve Technology. That means if you keep a supply of Duracell batteries in your home they are guaranteed to work next Christmas – or years from now (brand new ones, not ones that are actively used). For this reason we keep a supply of larger Duracell batteries on hand to power our emergency lights and flashlights. After all, you just never know when you might need them.
Duracell Coppertop alkaline batteries are all you need to provide power to items around your home such as toys, remote controls, flashlights, calculators, clocks and radios, portable electronics, and wireless mice and keyboards.
If you have holiday decor or gifts that require batteries this holiday season, or if you are looking to stock up on batteries, you can find a great deal at your neighborhood Rite Aid store. For a location near you visit RiteAid.com.
Beginning this coming Sunday (November 20, 2016), you can save on Duracell batteries at your local Rite Aid. Value packs are 2 for $20 and there’s a $3 manufacturer coupon available in most Sunday papers. You can even earn 300 Plenti points with the purchase of two. If you are unfamiliar with Plenti points you can find out more information at Plenti.com.
In addition to stocking up on batteries this holiday season, be sure to consider other options like toilet paper (you certainly don’t want to run out of that when you have guests over), ice (for all those fun holiday cocktails), snacks (for unexpected guests) and extra gifts for hostess gifts, “Secret Santa” gift exchanges and just in case you forgot anyone on your list.
What things do you make sure to stock up on during the holidays?
Do you think you’ll take advantage of the Duracell promotion starting on November 20th?
Feel free to share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
