Are you a fan of the AMC series Fear the Walking Dead? It’s kind of a spin off from the channel’s wildly popular The Walking Dead series.
Fear the Walking Dead takes place around the same time as The Walking Dead, except they are in a different part of the world.
Fear the Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season is now available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download.
Fear the Walking Dead stars Kim Dickens as Madison, Cliff Curtis as Travis, Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Rubén Blades as Daniel, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia, Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris and Colman Domingo as Strand.
Living in the same universe as The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 explored a blended family who watched a burning, dead city as they traversed a devastated Los Angeles. In Season 2, the group aboard the Abigail is unaware of the true breadth and depth of the apocalypse that surrounds them; they assume there is still a chance that some city, state, or nation might be unaffected — some place that the Infection has not reached. But as Operation Cobalt goes into full effect, the military bombs the Southland to cleanse it of the Infected, driving the Dead toward the sea. As Madison, Travis, Daniel, and their grieving families head for ports unknown, they will discover that the water may be no safer than land.
In the second season the group find themselves in Mexico. They are now separated. Travis and Chris find themselves on their own. Madison, Alicia and Strand find some kind of safety in a hotel with other survivors. Nick has made his way to Tijuana where he lives with a group of survivors.
Will the group ever find each other again? Will any of them survive or will one (or all) of them fall victim to the dead that are now roaming the Earth?
I have to admit that the first season was “just ok.” It didn’t capture our attention like The Walking Dead did. That didn’t stop me from tuning in to season two.
I think season two is much better than the first season of Fear the Walking Dead. In the second season there was a lot more character development and we got to know, and understand, the characters much better. Getting to know them on a different level made me feel more in tune with them and their safety.
Nick was my least favorite character in season one. I was hoping they would kill him off. After watching season two I see know that I was too quick to judge his character. There is more to him than a junkie.
The last few minutes of the final episode really drew me in – so much so that I am anxiously waiting for season three to start. It wasn’t a major cliffhanger like that with Negan and Lucille on The Walking Dead, but it’s enough to have me keeping an eye out for news of when season three will start.
Fear the Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season comes with all fifteen episodes of the second season, as well as some really interesting bonus features.

The deleted scenes were interesting.
I appreciate that they put all of the Flight 462 episodes in this collection. It’s interesting to see how this whole virus played out. To be honest, the episodes on the plane are truly terrifying. Imagine being in an airplane during a zombie outbreak? Scary!
I also like the behind-the-scenes information featured in both Inside Fear the Walking Dead and The Making of Fear the Walking Dead. It makes you appreciate the series more when you see what goes on behind the scenes to bring it all to life.
Both the DVD and Blu-ray have a run time of 648 Mins and retail for $69.98 (DVD) and $79.99 (Blu-ray). They are available wherever Blu-rays and DVDs are sold.
