Are you a pet owner, or have you ever owned a pet? If so, chances are from time to time you’ve wondered what they did all day when you were not home.
We have five cats and a dog. We often wonder what they do while we’re at work or school. We do have video cameras that we consider setting up to capture their daily activities. We just haven’t got around to setting them up yet.
We suspect they sleep most of the day, but there are plenty of times we have come home to find things moved around and telltale signs that the cats have been on the furniture or counter tops.
Its safe to say that our Goldfish, Fishy, doesn’t do much more than swim when we are not around. Ha Ha.
The film, The Secret Life of Pets, is available today on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Look for it in stores now.
The Secret Life of Pets is from the same humans behind the incredibly popular Despicable Me.
The film stars an all star voice cast that includes Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Moynihan, Steve Coogan and Albert Brooks.
The Secret Life of Pets is a film about what pets do during the day when their owners are not at home. They certainly don’t lie around sleeping all day. The pets in the film have a better social life than I do. Ha Ha.
Check out the trailer.
There are many types of pets in the film including dogs, cats, hamster (or maybe it’s a guinea pig?), fish, birds and other pets. My favorite is the Buddy the Dachshund because he reminds me of my father’s dog Sammy who recently passed away. He’s even the same coloring as the one in the film.
I also loved Chloe the cat. We have five cats and her mannerisms and attitude in the film is spot on. Our cats behave the same way.
All of the characters are cute, except maybe the creepy looking fur-less cat from the alley (Ozone).
We received to review the Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack (Blu-ray, DVD and Digital copy) Target Exclusive. It comes with four pages of adorable character decals. You can use the cute decals to decorate your room, car, office, laptop, or wall. They feature main characters from the film and show off their fun personalities.
There is also a cute frame you can add your pet’s photo to. Since we have six pets in total I don’t want to play favorites. For now I won’t put a photo in it.
The bonus features include three funny mini-movies – the all-new Norman Television and Weenie and Mower Minions which debuted in theaters and is now available to own. There is nearly and hours worth of hysterical bonus content to enjoy.
There is so much hustle and bustle going on during the holiday season. The holidays are about spending quality time with family and friends and making memories. Now is a great time for a Family Movie Night.
My family has enjoyed Family Movie Night many times over the years. We make it a point to watch movies together. Now that our kids are old we know that time with them is fleeting. We want to create as many memories as possible.
I also find Family Movie Night fun and relaxing. I would much rather enjoy a good movie like The Secret Life of Pets than worry about finding the “must have” gift of the season and fighting people for parking spots.
You don’t have to go crazy when it comes to Family Movie Night. We usually get a few snacks or treats. This time of year hot cocoa with extra marshmallows is the perfect Family Movie Night treat, along with a snugly blanket for each family member.
Chips and dips are usually my family’s favorite Movie Night treats. We don’t eat stuff like that during the week, so enjoying them on the weekend along with a great movie is a lot of fun.
Even a few cookies is enough to satisfy us. After all, it’s more so about the movie than the snacks.
The Secret Life of Pets is a wonderful movie to enjoy together as a family. It would also make a great gift or stocking stuffer this holiday season.
Look for The Secret Life of Pets where ever movies are sold.
You can also check out the film on it’s official website, as well as on social media (Facebook & Instagram).
Have you seen the film? If so, what did you think about it?

We have three cats and are always wondering what they are thinking, what would they say if they could talk, and what they are up to when we are away.

We have not seen this yet but it looks really cute. We need to plan a family movie night.
