A new way to enjoy Eggnog

Do you like Eggnog? I know it’s an acquired taste. My husband doesn’t like it. My kids will drink it but not all varieties (some they brands they like better than others). I like most Eggnogs too. Some day I’d like to learn how to make it from scratch. I usually just buy the pre-made kind.

Whether you are a fan of the holiday drink or not you might be interested in a a holiday flavor from my favorite gelato maker – Talenti. You guessed it – Eggnog gelato!

The flavor was actually introduced last year. It was such a huge hit with consumers that they brought the flavor back again this year.

Here is a little more about the Eggnog flavor gelato.

Talenti has taken the traditional eggnog flavor and translated it into a rich and creamy gelato blend of Tahitian vanilla beans, fresh egg yolks, and soothing nutmeg.  The flavor is a celebration of the season, and will be available nationally for a limited time only from now until Dec. 31  at a suggested retail price of $4.99-$5.99 (online at $7.99 plus shipping).

Talenti was kind enough to send me some of their Eggnog gelato to try out. My initial reaction was that it was vanilla with a little something extra to it. After the gelato melted in my mouth I was able to pick up it’s true flavor. It does indeed taste like Eggnog! Even better, it tastes like REAL Eggnog, not the kind you buy in a can off the grocery shelf.

I have only had real Eggnog a few times. Mostly I buy the pre-made stuff off the shelf at the grocery store. The stuff from the store doesn’t taste exactly like the real thing, nor does it taste as fresh as real Eggnog either. The Talenti gelato Eggnog tastes like real, freshly made, homemade Eggnog!

Even my kids couldn’t get enough of it. Sadly my husband still won’t entertain the thought of trying it. He keeps thinking it’s going to taste like an egg. LOL!

This is a fantastic dessert option to serve to family and friends this holiday season. I bet it would taste out-of-this-world amazing ala mode style on a slice of hot, fresh apple pie.

Oh! I’m drooling just thinking about it! 🙂

Thankfully Talenti is available at many retail locations across the country. Not all flavors are available at all stores. The Eggnog flavor won’t be available forever so if you are lucky to find it in your local grocery store you should stock up on it and grab a few to save in your freezer.

Talenti Chocolate Peanut Buttercup and Sea Salt Caramel are my most favorite flavors (once you try them you’ll be hooked too!).
