I remember when I was a young girl that we had to get dressed up for Christmas. We were dressed in our Sunday best whenever we went to a relative’s (or friend’s) house for a holiday party. I didn’t mind. I enjoyed dressing up.
Over the years I’ve noticed that it’s been the “norm” for people to dress more casually at holiday gatherings. Suits and dressed have been replaced with jeans and t-shirts. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I’m all for being comfortable.
Then… one day… the whole concept of wearing the ugliest Christmas sweater possible became the “in thing.”
I remember ugly Christmas sweaters from years ago. I remember them featuring jumping reindeer or a giant Santa head. These days ugly Christmas sweaters feature lights and music, as well as characters like Darth Vadar. It’s crazy… but crazy fun!
There are even holiday parties specifically geared toward ugly Christmas sweaters. Personally, I’ve never been to one, but I’d love to be invited some day.
If you are a fan of the new holiday tradition, and are in need of an ugly sweater, check out UglyChristmasSweater.com. There you’ll find a vast array of ugly Christmas sweaters – and more – to enjoy throughout the holiday season.
Check out these fun designs.
As you can see, UglyChristmasSweater.com has a HUGE assortment of designs for men and women. Currently I don’t see any children’s designs, but most of their sweaters come in an array of sizes, from small to 3XL.
The 3D and light up sweaters are my favorites. I even love the ones that look like you are riding on the back of an elf. They are hysterical!
My ultimate favorite is the pink bunny pajamas like the ones Ralphie was forced to wear in the film A Christmas Story.
I was sent a sweater to review. There are so many fun choices to choose from. I had a hard time narrowing it down. I finally selected this sweater.
It’s available for both men and women (a lot of their sweaters are unisex).
I chose this one because it has three dimensional Christmas stockings hanging from the mantle and a 3D red bow. It also comes with LED lights that give the sweater a unique and eye catching design.
A sweater like this can’t be machine washed. It can only be steam cleaned only. That is fine with me. It’s not like you need to take it to the cleaners month after month. It’s more like once a year.
I don’t really see this sweater as “ugly.” It’s rather cute if you ask me. I also work with young children and I’m sure they would get a kick out of this. This sweater is definitely safe for the workplace and office Christmas party.
UglyChristmasSweaters.com does have some more risque and some what “offensive” ugly Christmas sweaters. Not that they are REALLY bad, it’s just that wearing a sweater that refers to getting “baked” (as in high) might be seen as offensive to some people.
The sweaters on this site are not cheap – in quality or price. The sweater I received to review is very well made. It’s something that will last year after year. I am impressed by the quality.
I don’t have a photo of me wearing the sweater. For me, the size seems to run a bit small. It’s currently a bit snug in my arms. However, I am in the process of losing weight so I am confident I’ll be able to enjoy wearing this sweater soon.
This sweater features a lighted element (the fireplace lights up). Check out the brief video below to see the sweater in action.
The sweater came with batteries already inserted to the battery compartment, which is found inside the sweater. The battery compartment is held in place with Velcro.
This sweater also has 3D elements (stockings and bow). So cute!
Because of it’s quality, and the novelty of these sweaters, they can be a bit pricey for some people (from around $20 – $70, depending on the style and embellishments). Sweaters that light up, spin, are 3D or “above and beyond” just a regular sweater are on the higher end.
UglyChristmasSweaters.com also carries other items like ugly jackets and ugly leggings.

What do you think of the creative and unique sweaters from this brand? Are you in need of an ugly Christmas sweater for yourself this year?
