Are you done shopping for the holiday? Are your presents wrapped and ready to adorn the bottom of the tree on Christmas morning (or ready to give out on Hanukkah)?
We’re all done shopping for the holiday. Everything is wrapped, except on gift. Since my kids are older, we can put the wrapped gifts under the Christmas tree long before Christmas morning. In fact, putting the wrapped presents under the tree helps to keep the kittens from hanging out under the tree and eating/breaking the lights and ornaments. One of our kittens, Loca, already chewed through the wire for some of the lights on our pre-lit tree. The bottom part of our tree is not lit up. Next year we’ll have to add extra lights to the bottom to correct that.
Admittedly, I don’t have any stocking stuffers for my family yet. It’s traditional for me to give them an apple, orange and some candy in their stockings. That is what I always found in my stocking when I was growing up. I also always received a new box of crayons (the big 64-count box) and a coloring book, along with some small toys. My kids received the same when they were little. Now that they are older I need to put some gifts in their stockings like bath bombs, lotion, perfume/cologne and the like.
If you are looking for some stocking stuffer ideas, or you are looking to pick up a few more small gifts, I have a suggestion for you – Pluffle!
What is the world is Pluffle?
Pluffle is a non-toxic, fluffy playfoam-like substance that is fun to play with, cool to touch, and mesmerizing to watch.
Check out this brief video. It’s not the best video for showing off Pluffle, but at least you can get a brief glimpse of how it moves in your hand.
I was sent some Pluffle to review. I received a tube of green Pluffle, and a tube of pink Pluffle. You can mix different colors of Pluffle together, but I opted to keep them separate.
It’s hard to explain what Pluffle actually is. It’s like little bits of something (seriously… it’s hard to explain) that you can squeeze together and watch is come undone and return to it’s original shape. It kind of resembles paper shreds, but it’s not paper. It’s a foam-like substance.
You can also watch the Pluffle “pour” out from your hands. You can move it around, pile it on top of it’s self, and do just about anything you can think of. No matter what you do, Pluffle will always return to it’s original shape.
Pluffle also never dries.
You can place the Pluffle back into the tube when you are finished playing with it. Just be sure that the end cap is on tight. You wouldn’t want any of it to spill out. It’s not that it would be ruined. You would just need to sweep it up.
Pluffle feels really good in your hands. It has a soft, fluffy texture.
As an adult, I find playing with Pluffle very soothing and relaxing. It’s like a stress ball – only better.
Pluffle is a great medium for tactile and sensory learning.
My work kids went crazy for Pluffle. I only brought in the one tube (I wanted to keep one for myself – I have fun playing with it). They could not get enough of it. They have a lot of fun with it. They are also a bit messy with it, and some of it I had to sweep up from the floor. When using this with several children, you might want to give them a tray to work on top of so that the Pluffle doesn’t end up on the floor.
Pluffle is fun and engaging, and I think it would make a great stocking stuffer. The tube would even fit perfectly in a stocking too.
Pluffle is available in different colors, and is available on the Educational Insights website.

What do you think about Pluffle? Does it sound like something your child/grandchild might like to play with?
