Are you or someone in your family a fan of the Power Rangers?
Power Rangers have been around since the early 90’s. Friends of mine would jokingly refer to me as the Pink Power Ranger because her name was Kimberly too. 🙂
I didn’t really watch the series because at that time (I was in my early 20’s), but I had a nephew who was crazy about them. I remember all how Power Ranger action figures. He had A LOT of them. I believe he was a Power Ranger for Halloween one year too.
I know that some adults are still fans of the show because it brings back fond memories of their youth. I also know that plenty of children faithfully watch them on TV as part of the Power Rangers Megaforce series.
There were two Power Rangers movies – Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. I’m curious if they will make another film?
Walk into just about any toy store and I’m sure you’ll find Power Rangers merchandise and toys. The Power Rangers even have their own Monopoly game –Â Monopoly: The Power Rangers 20th Anniversary Edition. I think that says a lot about the longevity of the series – not every series gets it’s own Monopoly game.
Your family will morph into the Power Rangers universe with this special edition board game, which allows players to buy, sell and trade iconic locations spanning the entire 20-year legacy! Locations include The Command Center, The Power Chamber, Rita Repulsa’s Palace and many more. The game also comes with six collectable tokens – Alpha 5, Lightning Bolt, White Ranger Helmet, Megazord, Power Morpher and Goldar!
Sadly I am not familiar with many of the places in the game, but even someone who has never even watched the show before should be able to understand it quickly enough.
The Monopoly pieces reflect the Power Rangers series too including the iconic helmet and a lightening bolt (I played the bolt). Other elements of the game that have been re-created to represent the Power Rangers include custom Power Rangers money, deed cards that feature Power Ranger locations, Allies and Villains cards and even the houses have been renamed Zords and the hotels are Megazords (I’m sure a fan of the show would understand what they are).
My kids never watched the show before and have only played Monopoly a few times when they were a bit younger, so the first time we played was a learning experience for all of us. Once you get used to the name changes and how different things look you’ll realize that the game is pretty much the same.
Currently our game is buried in the closet behind boxes of toys that we’re donating and gifts for our kids (and for my husband too…shhh… don’t tell him). I wanted to take pictures but I can’t dig it out of the closet right now. The closet is a “catch all” for things we have to hide/store when we decorate for the holiday. We’ll dig it out on a few weeks.
The game, Monopoly: The Power Rangers 20th Anniversary Edition, has a suggested retail price of $39.95 and is available on Amazon.com and at Go! Toys & Games stores.
This would make a fun gift for the Power Rangers fan, both young and old.

I’ve never seen the series but remember what it was about. Looks like they had a strong following and this would be a great nostalgic gift. Anything like Monopoly is fun but I probably would not play well since I don’t know anything about them, lol.
