I’m sure many parents can relate to back to school shopping with your kids.
It seems like each year there are more and more supplies added to the list. Sometimes I think it costs MORE for the supplies then the clothes. Especially when it comes to $$$$ scientific calculators and special tools/equipment for elective classes.
One item that is almost always on the list is tissues. When I was a young girl tissues was NOT a part of the supply list. I’m actually glad they include tissues on the list, especially for elementary age students. Little ones tend to get the sniffles and colds more so than older students. I think that is because little ones are still learning about hygiene and things like wipe your nose with a tissue, not your sleeve.
I also like that parents are asked to supply a box of tissues for the classroom so that the cost doesn’t fall on the teacher. They already spend enough of their money on classroom supplies.
I’m sure you already know that Kleenex brand tissues help to keep kids hands clean, but did you also know that they also support schools?
Kleenex brand is supporting back to school time this year in two ways;
By promoting healthy kids – and continuing its tradition of leadership through innovation with new Kleenex Everyday Tissue with Sneeze Shield, which is now thicker and more absorbent to help keep the wet stuff off kids’ hands. Plus they come in a variety of portable and convenient package sizes, perfect for tossing in backpacks.
Kleenex brand is the only facial tissue that participates in Box Tops for Education, donating a total of $13MM to date. Parents can support their schools as well by purchasing Kleenex Tissue with Box Tops for the kid’s classroom.
In fact, Kleenex brand will be donating a whopping 250,000 eBox Tops to the three winning schools that participated in the TeacherLists.com Sweepstakes. That translates into $25,000 per school. Imagine how many needed supplies those school will be able to afford.
I like that Kleenex brand is participating in the Box Tops for Education program. If you have been reading my blog on a regular basis you know that I fully support that program.
I attended a Box Tops for Education conference a few years ago and I was amazed by the success stories that I heard. Back then one school had raised $17,000 just by clipping and saving the Box Tops for Education logos from products they used. That is amazing!
You can even earn Box Tops for Education “points” by shopping online at your favorite stores. Simply visit the Box Tops for Education website, www.BoxTops4Education.com, click “Earn Online”, then shop at the Marketplace. I wrote about it earlier this year. You can find the post here – Help your school year round with the Box Tops for Education Marketplace.
Knowing that Kleenex brand supports such a wonderful program makes me want to support the brand. I am going to make sure that when purchasing tissues that I reach for Kleenex tissues.
You can find the Box Tops for Education logos on the 160 count and 210 count everyday tissues as well as the 112 count Anti-Viral tissues.
Did you know that Kleenex is the only brand that offers a “Sneeze Shield” in all it’s tissues that help to keep hands dry at school, home and on-the-go? The new Kleenex Everyday tissues are thicker and more absorbing (vs. leading competitor) which offers you better hand protection so that the ooey gooey germs don’t make their way to your hands or your child’s hands.
Kleenex tissues comes in a variety of packaging to suit your needs.
The Slim Pack. It is thin and sleek, so you can always keep a tissue on hand. Their trendy design makes it the perfect accessory for hip tweens and teens, while their convenient size makes it easy to slide them into pockets, back packs and bags.
The Car Wedge. It fits perfectly in the car door or glove compartment – no need to lug around a box of tissue or fumble in a purse for a tissue while driving.
The Go Pack. Strong, soft and absorbent, Kleenex brand go packs have been there for happy tears and stuffy noses since 1924.
If you would like to learn more about Kleenex, their back to school initiatives or helpful tips on how to teach your kids how to use the Sneeze Shield where ever they go, visit www.Kleenex.com. You can also follow the brand on Facebook and Twitter.

I agree with you on the supplies costing more than the clothes sometimes! At least with clothes you can shop consignment or thrift stores.

Kleenex brand is the best to take for back to school. I like the slim pack because I can always take these with me, and I have some handy in my purse. And I always seem to need to have some Kleenex for the car while out and about. Good product to always have on hand!
