Do you love getting mail? How about unexpected packages? I sure do.
As a review blogger I get a lot of packages delivered to my door that I do expect, but every now and then I receive a surprise in the mail. I love it when that happens. 🙂
My kids love getting mail or surprise packages too. When they were little I used to order small things for them so that they had mail and/or packages to open up. They even got excited when a magazine showed up in the mailbox.
I think we all appreciate getting fun surprises in the mail. And I’m sure we can all agree that we don’t like receiving things marked “DUE NOW” in big, bold, red letters. LOL!
Every time I get a package delivered my dog is always right there, practically on top of me, trying to see what is inside. Occasionally I do get pet related products to review. I feel bad when our cats receive goodies and not our dog, and vice versa. No matter who it’s for our dog Espn (pronounced Es-pin) is always hovering over the box to see if there is anything inside for him.
Bark Box is a monthly subscription service that sends your dog 4-6 innovative dog toys, treats, gadgets, and goodies. Most of the products are considered “specialty” items.
Bark Box has different monthly boxes depending on the size of your dog. That way your Chihuahua doesn’t receive a huge toy meant for a Great Dane and your Rottweiler won’t receive treats specifically made for a Yorkie. You specify what size dog you have so that Bark Box knows what types of products to send.
Each month you get something different. It’s a fun way to explore new products and brands you might not otherwise know about. Plus your dog will love all his special goodies.
Bark Box sent me a box to review. Inside I found the following products.
Heartland Premium Bone
A real bone sourced from cows born and bred in Omaha, Nebraska.
Bowser Beer
A beef based drink with no alcohol or carbonation. It’s fortified with glucosamine, which is great for joints. It’s can be served as a treat or as a topper on dry dog food. You can even serve it over crushed ice on a hot day.
Puppy Cake Puptato Chips
A healthy, all natural alternative to potato chips. Made from dried sweet potatoes, they are low in fat and high in vitamins.
Whole Life Freeze Dried Protein
Freeze dried, single sourced protein with no fillers. Made from high quality meet from the USA.
Dale Edgar Calm K9 Wafers
Hailing from Portland, Oregon these wafers contain omega-3, Vitamin B and chamomile to help sooth and relax frightened dogs, or those suffering from anxiety. Great for fireworks and thunderstorms.
My dog went crazy when I opened this box. He must have known it was all for him.
He loves the Puppy Cake Puptato Chips and the Whole Life Freeze Dried Protein snacks. He would eat both bags if I let him. He can’t get enough of them.
We haven’t had the opportunity to try the Dale Edgar Calm K9 Wafer yet. We plan on giving them to him on the Fourth of July. If they work we’ll give them to him whenever a thunderstorm rolls in or the local ballpark has fireworks.
I’m going to give our neighbor (a Rottweiler puppy who is already 70 pounds!) the real bone. As much as my dog wants it I know he’ll get very protective of it and literally viciously attack the cats if they go near it. I don’t want to take any chances.
As for the Bowser Beer, we haven’t tried it yet.
Bark Box is a fun idea. I would love to subscribe to something like this for Espn. I wish they had Meow Boxes too so I could subscribe for my cats too.
If you would like to learn more about Bark Box and their pricing visit www.BarkBox.com. Their monthly subscriptions range from $29 (one month) to $19.00 (six months – $19 per month).
You can also find Bark Box on the various social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.
Bark Box would like to give a lucky reader a 3-month subscription to Bark Box for their dog. If you don’t have a dog and would like to enter you could always donate the goodies to your local animal shelter.
This giveaway is open to US residents only and will end on July 22, 2013 at 11:59 PM (EST). The winner will be chosen at random using a random number generator from all eligible entries. The winner will be notified via e-mail and will have three days to respond or a new winner will be chosen in their place.
To enter please comment on this post and tell me about your dog (or dogs) who will be receiving the Bark Box if you are the lucky winner.
For extra entries you can use the Rafflecopter widget (below) but you must complete the initial entry requirement or the additional entries won’t qualify (I do check). Extra entries are optional.

I have the best pup in the world, and her name is Ashley. We got her 11 years ago when she was only 8 weeks old, near Ashley, Ohio – hence her name. A few years ago, my husband was feeling under the weather, and Ashley would not leave his side. Come to find out he had cancer, and it was like she was trying to tell us something……that he had cancer. She has always been a mamma’s girl – so it was kinda odd that she would be glued to his side. He went through chemo, the cancer went into remission, but then it came back and she did the same thing. I know it sounds weird – but she was telling us once again the he had cancer. I believe this with all my heart. His cancer is back in remission, and Ashley is back to being a mamma’s girl – but I always look for that “sign”.
Colleen Schilinski says
Oops – I meant “She was telling us once again THAT he had cancer.

I have eight dogs that would share this yummy prize if we win. Three of my fur kids are rescues, the first was a sheltie simply rescued from someone who had too many small children and big dogs and no time for a smaller puppy (her words not mine) so he came to me…the other two rescues had a much sadder start to life. The first was a pit bull that I found wandering the streets eating out of garbage cans when he was approximately 12-14 weeks old. He was pitiful, very emaciated and had been beaten to the point where he had broken ribs and internal bleeding. My vet didn’t know that he would even live, but after several week of love, and lots of care, he started coming around and is now a 65# bundle of love and the protector of all the little dogs. The other rescue is a long haired chihuahua that I pulled from the local dog pound. He was going to be euthanized due to being emaciated and sick….I literally saved him from death….it was a long six weeks of keeping him quarantined from the rest of my crew so they wouldn’t get sick as well as he had long untreated kennel cough that had progressed to pneumonia. After a couple months though, he was well enough to be neutered and slowly went from the emaciated barely four pounds that he was when I picked him up to the healthy happy nine pounds that he is now. the chihuahua and pit bull are the best of friends. I already had five dogs when the rescues came to me, the first two within a month of each other and the last one the following year, but it’s hard to say no to a dog in need. I have fostered and rehomed many others over the years but I knew these three rescues would be staying as soon as they walked in the door! My dogs all get along very well and are great at sharing stuff with each other. They would enjoy a bark box very much. Thank you for the chance to win for my fur babies.
Denise Taylor-Dennis says
I would love to win this for my yorkie poo his name is buddy he is a funny dog.
JoBeth Butcher says
My dog Max who is a rescue will get this prize pack. Everyone wanted him put to sleep because they said he was to aggressive but his aggression came from not being able to trust because he was severely abused by his previous owner and had no social interaction besides abuse. When we got him it took him a while to come around. He is really big but now he is the best gaud dog we have ever had an a baby with our two sons ages 3 and 4. Max is part black lab part boxer. He is a pretty big dog he weighs right at 58 pds. I am so glad I have the chance to him his as part of our family and he really deserves the pampering!

She’s the small (by comparison – she’s about 35-40lbs) black dog in my FB pic. Anything Vix doesn’t like (she’s pretty picky even with treats and doesn’t like chewing anything too hard) will go to my sister’s new rescue Burton (the other dog in my FB pic) whose about 18-24 mths old and about 2.5 times Vix’s size. He’s a golden mix.
