Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. It’s scary to think about that because Christmas seems like I was just yesterday. Time flies way too quickly. Sigh…
Do you have plans for Valentine’s Day? At the moment we don’t have any plans. We usually try to have dinner and a movie sometime during the month of February. Our “First Date” Anniversary is February 2nd (Groundhog’s Day). We usually combine the anniversary with Valentine’s Day.
I always like to get my hubby a little something, but it’s not always easy to find things for a guy for Valentine’s Day. Women enjoy chocolates, flowers, jewelry and a date night. It’s not as easy to buy something for Valentine’s Day for a man.
Thankfully my hubby is simple. He enjoys likes like chocolates and cookies, or even a special Valentine’s Day cake (which I plan on making him too – I have a new heart shaped pan).
Our budget is more tight than usual these days. Our mortgage went up and our monthly insurance premium went up too. Ugh! It’s more important than ever to find ways to save a few dollars here and there.
I recently learned about a site called PromotionalCodes.com. They have thousands of online coupons and promotional codes to help save you money. They have codes for most major brands and stores including Sears, Roxio, T-Mobile, Macy’s, ProFlowers and FTD. They even have codes for brands like Nutrisystem and All Recipes, which I didn’t think there were discount codes for.
I had a couple of gift cards that I wanted to use. One was for $50 and the other for $25. They were good at 1800 Flowers, Fannie May, The Popcorn Factory, Cheryl’s and 1800 Baskets. I was in luck because PromotionalCodes.com had discount codes for all of these websites.
I know my husband LOVES cookies. He’s my own personal “cookie monster”. I don’t know how he stays so thin. He eats cookies for breakfast! I just have to look at a cookie and I gain a pound (ha ha).
Cheryl’s has yummy cookies, and I know that they would have something for Valentine’s Day. I checked with PromotionalCodes.com and found that they had a 15% off discount code. PERFECT! They had 8 different discount codes for Cheryl’s including $10 off a $60 purchase and another one for FREE shipping. I opted for the 15% off coupon.
Cheryl’s has available a huge Valentine’s Day Cookie Assortment that I know my husband (and our kids) would enjoy. There are 48 cookies in total in yummy flavors like chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, peppermint bark and sugar & spice.
The assortment is $59.99. The PromotionalCode.com discount code was for 15% off, which saved me $9.00. Along with my gift card the cookies cost me just over $20, which was mostly just tax and shipping.
I was very pleased with the savings. In hindsight I should have gone with the PromotionalCodes.com code for FREE shipping. I would have saved $12.99 instead of $9.00. Make sure you check out all the discount codes available for the site you want to shop from to make sure you use the best one for your purchases.
I wanted to get my husband something else. Since he loves chocolate just as much as I do I thought I would take advantage of my $25 gift card and purchase him some of his favorite chocolate varieties from Fannie May. They have a 2 pound chocolate assortment option where you can pick out the varieties of chocolates you want. No more guessing what might come in the box, or receiving chocolates you won’t like. Since I know what kinds of chocolates my dear hubby enjoys I knew this was a great gift idea too.
PromotionalCodes.com currently has 9 discount codes for Fannie May. They have a FREE shipping code, but the one I opted to use was a 30% off discount code. Thirty percent off is HUGE.
The chocolate assortment I purchased for Valentine’s Day came to $59.99. With the 30% off discount code from PromotionalCodes.com I saved a whopping $18.00! AWESOME!!! 🙂

Just by checking out the available codes at PromotionalCodes.com I was able to save $27. Imagine how much I’ll save over the cost of a year if I stopped by PromotionalCodes.com before making purchases. I’m sure it would total a lot of $$$ over the course of a year.
