Get 15% off your purchase at GiftBasketsPlus.com

Have you ever had a hard time finding the perfect gift for someone on your holiday shopping list? I know that is a problem for me A LOT. There are certain people I like to buy for that are next to impossible to buy for. It’s even harder when they don’t offer you any hints as to what they might like, want or need.

I have always found that gift baskets are a great gift option. Sometimes I like to make them up myself. Other times I rather purchase them pre-made. Even though it might be less expensive to create your own, having to run around from store to store and investing a lot of time and energy into finding all the items to put in the gift basket can be “easier said than done”. Often it’s just easier to purchase a pre-made gift basket. You can certainly add to the contents of the basket to make it more personalized to the recipient if you want.

GiftBasketsPlus.com is has a special 15% discount code. Since it’s important to stick to a budget when holiday shopping, and saving $$$ is a must, I always like to take advantage of discounts and sales whenever possible.

The discount code is 15OFF.

Some of their holiday gift baskets are already on sale (20% off) so you can save even more $$$ with the discount code. For example, I was thinking the gift basket called Indulge with Godiva would make a great gift for a friend. It contains;

  • Milk chocolate caramel gems
  • Chocolate cashews
  • Chocolate almonds
  • Milk chocolate with caramel bar
  • 31% cacao chocolate bar
  • Milk chocolate gems truffles
  • Godiva signature chocolate biscuits

It normally sells for $67.50. It’s currently on sale for $54. With the 15% off discount the final price is $45.90. Over all that is a $21.60 savings.

I love giving gift basket as gifts (as well as receiving them as a gift). I love how it’s multiple gifts in one. Not only are you receiving a gift basket (I try and re-purpose the basket or container the gift comes in) but you also get all the great goodies that go inside.

GiftBasketsPlus.com has gift baskets not only for the Christmas holiday, they also have Hanukkah and most major holidays. They also have gift baskets for other occasions such as wedding, birthday and get well.

If you are looking for a specific kind of gift basket chances are they have what you are looking for including organic gift baskets, gift baskets for candle lovers and they even have gift baskets for your pet!

If you have a friend or a relative serving in the military, GiftBasketsPlus.com also has awesome gift baskets filled with delightful treats which are sure to bring a smile to someone’s face.

In addition to a large assortment of gift baskets, GiftBasketsPlus.com also offers you the following…

If you are stump for what to get someone on your holiday shopping list, or you are looking for a gift that can be shipped across the country and appreciated by the recipient, check out the gift baskets at www.GiftBasketsPlus.com. Hurry! You’ll want to take advantage of the 20% off sale as well as the 15% off discount code.

Looking for this season’s hottest “must have” toys? Check out Toys R Us on Ebay!

I have a confession to make. I used to be an “Ebay addict”. I used to bid on things all the time on Ebay. I even sold a lot of things on Ebay too. For a few years Ebay was my life. I would use Ebay to find decor for around my home, collectibles and toys for my kids.

When my kids were little I used to buy a lot of their Christmas presents off of Ebay. We didn’t have much $$$. It was great to get good deals on toys on Ebay. They were “new” to my kids even though they were not brand new and factory sealed (although I did buy brand new toys as often as I could on Ebay).

Yesterday I wrote a post about how I don’t like to go shopping from this point on (from “Black Friday” until after the start of the new year). I prefer to stay at home and shop at my convenience online rather then fight people for parking spots and have to wait on long lines that seem to move at a snails pace.

I haven’t really started shopping yet. I have ONE gift for my daughter. I need to order her something else. Our son has not given us any ideas as to what he wants. Ugh! He’s the only kid I know that DOESN’T want things for Christmas or even his birthday. Meanwhile my daughter has a wish list a mile long.

Did you that Toys R Us has a store front on Ebay? Ebay has changed A LOT since I last used it. Now big brands like Toys R Us have their own Ebay stores. Shopping on Toys R Us’s Ebay store is as convenient and easy as it is shopping on their main website. Best of all you don’ thave to leave the Ebay website so you are free to shop all over Ebay. It’s literally like a “one stop shop” for all your holiday gift needs.

They even have a Ebay Canada store for our friends to the North (plus it would save you on shipping if you need to buy a toy and ship it to Canada – simply place the order from the Ebay Canada store front).

Have you seen the funny commercial on TV with the little girl who wanted a pony for Christmas? I know a lot of children ask for one (I did when I was little). In the commercial the parents get her a REAL pony but quickly realize that they made a huge mistake. It’s funny. You should check it out.

If you are reading this via e-mail you can find the video here, http://bit.ly/Y9MIlh.

I’ve been doing some browsing on the Toys R Us Ebay store, looking for gifts for my kids as well as my nieces and nephews. Thank goodness non of them want a pony! LOL!

I’ve found some great deals on brand new toys, and I don’t even have to make a trip to my local Toys R Us store too!

Check out the goods (and great deals!) that I found.

XBox 360 with KinectWe still have our Game Cube. Time for an upgrade. LOL!

FurReal Friends Pony – Baby Butterscotch. My niece LOVES horses! She’s obsessed with horses. She lives, breathes, eats, sleeps horses. She would LOVE this!

K’Nex Amusement Park Ferris Wheel. My son loves to play with Legos. I think he’d like the K’Nex because you can build cooler looking things with them.

Edu Science Astro Nova HD 1000 Young Astronomer’s Reflector Telescope. We’re still debating on getting our son a telescope. He’s never mentioned he wants one, but he does love to look at the moon and stars and he’s always asking questions about them. We think maybe he might enjoy something like this.

Classic Battleship Game (Movie Edition). My husband and I both loved to play this game when we were kids. We keep talking about getting the game for ourselves (of course the kids can play with it too). I would love to get this for my “big kid” (hubby) this holidays season. :-)

Yapster Blaster Headset. My daughter has been asking for Beats headphones. There is NO WAY I can afford them. Perhaps something like these headphones would work for her.

Super Scrabble Board Game. We have a Scrabble game, but it’s Scrabble Junior. I think it’s time we upgraded to a more grown up one since my kids are older now. My son has always enjoyed the game. He’s really good at it too.

Vintage Playskool Building Bricks. These are NOT from the Toys R Us Ebay store front. These are other toys available on Ebay. I REALLY want to get these. My husband and I both had these growing up. I would play with these for HOURS – literally! My son loves to build with the Legos. What I like about these is that they come with windows, working doors and roof pieces. I think he could have fun building with these. Plus it would be fun to see them again. I loved these as a child.

Vintage 1970’s Tonka Winnebago. This is another Ebay find. Each year I try and find a toy from my husband’s childhood – things he talks fondly of and has great memories attached to them. Over the years I have found him some of his most favorite childhood toys (he keeps them on his desk at work). This year I’m thinking of getting him this old Tonka. He’s talked about it often and I do believe this is the one that he used to have (maybe just a different color). I just have to find a sly way of showing him this photo to make sure before I buy it.

Fisher Price Little People Ronald McDonald. I am tempted to get this toy for myself. :-) I collect Fisher Price Little People. I even have my original ones from when I was a little girl (the wooden people!). I have a few rate sets too. I would love to add this little guy to my collection. I am very tempted to buy him.

As you can see you can find A LOT of great toys on Ebay – both new (like the ones you can find on the Toys R Us store front) and used/vintage toys and just about everything in between.

Personally I like buying new products from Ebay to give as gifts. I only buy the vintage stuff for me and my hubby.

My favorite Ebay feature is “Buy-it-Now”. I love knowing I can buy what I want and not have to watch for auctions to end and worry about getting out bid. Getting out bid on something you really want stinks. Plus with Buy-it-Now you know what you are going to pay to get the product you want. With the bidding/auctions you can end up paying A LOT more than you wanted to pay.

If you are looking for some great gift ideas you might want to check out the Ebay Holiday Gifts Guide, www.Ebay.com/evt/Holiday-Gifts.

Did you know that Ebay also have a mobile app? The app makes it very convenient to shop anywhere at any anytime. I downloaded it on my phone (it’s FREE!). I use it to find ideas for gifts for my family. When I’m sitting in my car at the bus stop waiting for my kids to come home I search around Ebay for ideas for gifts for them. I have to admit I find things that I’d love for myself too. LOL!

The app is convenient because everything is right there and easy to access. You can keep track of both items you are buying, bidding on and selling.

I make sure to check out the Deals section daily too. You never know what you are going to find there.

If you would like to learn more about the app visit https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ebay/id282614216?mt=8. You can also do a search for it on the Apple app store on your smartphone.

Have you checked out Ebay lately? Do you shop or sell on Ebay often? Did you know that many big brands, like Toys R Us, have their own Ebay store fronts? Have you scored any amazing deals on Ebay? I would love to hear from my readers.

To check out Ebay for yourself visit www.Ebay.com. Ebay is also on Twitter (@Ebay) and Facebook (www.Facebook.com/Ebay).

Broadway’s Big Deals – Discounts on Arts & Theatre Events Nationwide

I live in the suburbs of New York City. Prior to where I currently live I lived about 2 hours north of the city. Even though I am so close I have never seen a Broadway show. I’ve seen off Broadway shows at the Elmsford Dinner Theater in Elmsford, NY (LOVE that place!) but I’ve never seen an actual Broadway show.

My daughter has seen TWO Broadway shows so far – Mama Mia and West Side Story. She saw them with her chorus group in middle school. How lucky!

Seeing a Broadway show is actually on my “Bucket List”. Some day I hope to see one.

If you are a fan of the theater you might be interested in knowing that Ticketmaster is offering big savings on events nationwide. Here is a bit from their press release.

Just in time for the Tony Award® season, Ticketmaster, a Live Nation Entertainment company (NYSE:LYV), has announced Broadway’s BIG Deals.  Nearly 50 events across the country are offering savings up to 50% until June 15th.   Patrons can discover shows and find Broadway’s BIG Deals at:  http://bit.ly/BroadwaysBIGDeals

“Our Broadway’s BIG Deal promotion is perfectly timed with the Tony Awards®.  The nominations were announced last month and fans will be able to purchase these discounted tickets to see their favorite production again or see the production they missed in time to cheer during the Tony Awards ceremony at 8PM on CBS on June 10th,” said Christy Renzulli, marketing services director, arts & theatre of Ticketmaster.

Patrons can purchase discounted tickets for many exciting arts events in New York and  throughout the country as well as for the following Tony Award® nominees:  Ghost the Musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, Peter and the Starcatcher, and SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark.

There are so many amazing shows to go and see. I hope someone takes advantage of these discounts. Personally I would love to see Mary Poppins. That looks really good. :-)

Someday…

Fun Summer & Party Idea (plus discount!)

Summer vacation is almost here. My kids have about three weeks left. Then I’ll have to survive the next two months of listening to “Mom, I’m bored. What can I do?” over and over again. :-)

I received a discount coupon for an online site called Colortime Crafts. I decided to check them out to see what they offer. They carry a lot of products that children can color and personalize including t-shirts, tote bags, pillow cases, bibs and more. My kids are a little too old for these products, however as a parent I can see the how handy these things could be.

If your child or grandchild needs things to do during the summer, especially on days when it’s too hot to be outside, offer them something to color like a t-shirt or pillow case. They would make for great rainy day projects too.

I love the idea of coloring and personalizing a t-shirt as a party favor. It’s a favor and party activity all in one. Imagine your daughter’s friends coloring in their own pillow case at a sleep over party, and getting to sleep with them that night too. That would be fun!

Prices range from $3.25 to $5.95 which makes this a “budget friendly” idea too.

They have products for girls and boys so every child in your family could have something fun to create.

I am able to share the coupon with my readers. It expires on October 30, 2012.

You can also get FREE SHIPPING on orders of $60 with the code: FRSH11W

To check out the available products visit www.ColorTime.com.

I would also like to recommend that you “like” them on Facebook because they have WEEKLY prize giveaways (3 winners). www.Facebook.com/ColorTimeCrafts.

Celebrate Reading Month with a special coupon from LeapFrog Tag & Scholastic

Are you familiar with the LeapFrog learning products for children? They were just coming on to the scene when my children were little. Both of my children had LeapFrog products growing up. More than 15 years ago LeapFrog began building its legacy of helping children learn to read.

Tag, the #1 selling reading system.* It helps children learn to read and more by bringing words and pictures to life—that’s why 99% of teachers recommend Tag!**

WOW! I am really impressed by how much more advanced LeapFrog products are these days. I’m especially impressed by their LeapFrog Tag system.

LeapFrog Tag provides your child with word for word support. The Tag system provides your child with vocabulary, reading comprehension and phonics skills and it geared towards children ages 4-8 years old (they do have a Tag Junior system for ages 1-4).

Tag helps children by letting them either hear the entire word or have it sounded out for them.

There are over 60+ books to choose from so you are sure to find book and characters that will bring hours of enjoyment to your child. They even have easy readers, maps that help teach children about Geography and map skill and books that feature games and activities. They can even teach children how to write upper and lower case letters.

The amazing thing about the LeapFrog’s Tag is that it brings characters to life. The voices of the characters in the books are the same that voices that children recognize from television and movies. Another words, Buzz and Woody from Toy Story sounds exactly like the movie characters in the Tag books.

They have so many fun books too with some of my favorite characters as Toy Story, Cars, Tinker Belle, Dora and many more.

Did you know that Tag is the #1 selling reading system?* It’s also recommended by 99% of teachers.** Wow! That is impressive.

March is Reading Month. Did you know that? I didn’t. :-)

Now you can celebrate Reading Month with LeapFrog and Scholastic. They are offering a $3.00 off coupon that you can use at your favorite retail store to save on Tag books and to help get your child started on their journey into reading.

You can find the coupon here, http://www.leapfrog.com/en/landingpages/reading_month.html?utm_source=Scholastic&utm_medium=banner3&utm_campaign=TagReadingMonth. The coupon expires June 30, 2012.

I hope you will take advantage of this coupon offer to stock up on your children’s favorite stories and books featuring their favorite characters. It’s never too early to share your love of reading with your child.
